Chocolate Moose

As you may remember, I'm trying to put on some weight. So, I've been regularly enjoying an "English Breakfast" at Café Manila (eggs, bacon, sausage, tomatoes, toast) after having my healthy breakfast at home (oatmeal, honey, muesli, fruit, and yogurt). Sometimes, I follow the English breakfast with a scone, butter, and marmalade.

I snack throughout the day. Although, San Geraldo doesn't think I do a very good job of it. I suppose rice cakes with a dab of peanut butter won't add many kilos. So, I've increased the amount of peanut butter and I've been adding a square of chocolate to the top.

Today, I mixed two different brands of peanut butter. I don't need you to tell me it looked disgusting; and it wasn't the most pleasant thing to eat either. So, I decided to go on YouTube and take lessons from an expert. If you watch the video that follows my rice cake photo, you'll notice that I have all the ingredients I need.

CHOCOLATE...

... MOOSE.

Then again, that green sign behind Moose is on the awning of a large (and excellent) ice cream and dessert café. Why should I cook?

  3. Hard to imagine trying to put on weight. My entire life has been focused on the reverse. But I imagine both have their challenges.

  4. And here I am thinking it's time to go back on the South Beach routine to get rid of some winter insulation.

Moose did just watch it. I wonder if that's why he's whining.

  6. I would not have a problem putting on weight if I lived next to an ice cream parlour.... ;)

PS I'm in love with Moose and Dudo!

Oddly (and GOODLY?) eating doesn't necessarily put the weight on for me. Working out does. So, I'll head to the gym... and then have an ice cream.

  7. It's a source of mystery to many Brits, myself included, how Americans take so readily to eating savoury and sweet in the same bite (your peanut butter with a piece of chocolate on top). However, must confess that I've never tried it. Maybe I should but the very thought is so off-putting.
Btw: Wasn't one of Elvis' favourite sandwiches that of peanut butter and jelly (what we'd call 'jam')? Sounds revolting, but maybe it's a case of "Don't knock it until you've tried it" - though I do hope that that advice would not apply to cunnilingus, which I'm actually not knocking - but certainly not trying it either, thank you. (Now you're REALLY put off eating, aren't you?)

I do love peanut butter and chocolate. Have you ever tried a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup? But I've tried some other savory combinations with chocolate that had me rinsing my mouth with water. And, yes, there are some things some people should NEVER try.

Well, except for the toast... Of course, who am I to judge. I eat packing material... I mean, rice cakes.
