I Love The Flower Girl

The terrace is, as usual, in bloom. San Geraldo's cyclonic winds visit only rarely and, when they do, even San Geraldo says they're not really cyclonic. The jasmine vines have taken off and the fragrance at night is enchanting.

FLOWERS IN HER HAIR...
FLOWERS EVERYWHERE.

Last night, the street jugglers came by while we dined at Sandpiper. I took pictures and then a video of their new act. While I recorded, wondrous images began to pass across my line of vision. Half-naked men. Very healthy half-naked men. Brazilian dancers, to be precise. The jugglers had beaten them to the spot in front of Sandpiper, so the dancers headed further down the paseo to perform. They each walked right in front of my camera as they continued on. The footage was very "pleasant" and was going to make an interesting blog post.

However, when I got home and tried to import my camera's contents, my computer crashed and I lost the video. And only the video!

This is not a fish story (or even a beef story). It's all true. So, I've got to head back out every night until I catch the half-naked Brazilian dancers again. I plan to record their entire act. Just think what you have to look forward to! (Because, of course, I'm only doing it for you.)

Unlike "The Flower Girl," (aka "The Rain, The Park & Other Things," 1967), who had the Cowsills for musical accompaniment, the half-naked Brazilian dancers make their own music.

  1. Mitchell, I love your flower girl and the song too. I am jealous of your terrace is beautiful.

The terrace is glorious and really 'makes' the apartment. That's the side terrace. It wraps around front facing the sea; and the living room and one bedroom face out that way.

  2. Damn that camera! I was in the mood for half-nekkid Brazilians!

We have a group or gardenia plants outside the bedroom window and when they're in bloom the aroma is amazing.

Figures that would be the first time ever that I've lost something from my camera. The video was unbelievable. There i was innocently recording the juggling act, when one bare-chested hunk after another crossed inches in front of me. I hope to video their entire act one of these nights, but I'll never catch anything quote so entertaining. (Although I've been told their act is VERY entertaining.) I promise you'll see them soon.

  3. Jasmine... I love jasmine! Thank you for sacrificing yourself for us yet again Mitchell, but if you want to make it a real sacrifice you should eat chocolate whilst filming those half-naked Brazilian dancers.
    Just helping out!

Oh, okay, I'll eat chocolate while filming. But only because you asked me to.

  5. I keep showing pictures of your apartment and balcony to Mrs. Chatterbox in the hope that it will inspire her to want to move to Spain. Unfortunately we're anchored where we are because of my 89 year old mother. Have a great weekend.

My mother forgave us the move. But we had already been living 3,000 miles away for years (West Coast as opposed to East). She wasn't thrilled but she supports us in our wanderings. But keep working on Mrs. C anyway!

The pessimist sees 1/2 clothed. The optimist, 1/2 naked.

  7. The girl with the flower in her hair made me think of Scott McKenzie's classic, "San Francisco".

  8. I am surprised that you lost the video.
It should still be on your camera's memory card.
You transfer a copy on your computer,
but the original remains there until you delete it,
    willingly...

I had two videos on my camera and I knew one wasn't worth keeping. I THINK I had meant to delete that one before transferring the files to my computer and then deleted the good video instead. Seems the most likely thing. Crud!
