There's Magic In The Night

It was a dark and stormy night. Tuesday night in Fuengirola brought thunder, lightning, and a bit of rain. If you ask me, it was beautiful. Don't ask San Geraldo — or the cats.

Oh, Thunder Road, oh, Thunder Road...

I too love a good thunderstorm... and Bruce Springsteen.

  2. I like it when Mother Nature takes control and shows who's boss!
As long, of course, it is withing reason and not catastrophic.

We've now been having gentle breezes (mostly) and glorious sunshine.

  4. I can handle weather, except for tornadoes. Even earthquakes don't rattle me too much.

I'm the same. I think part of the reason is because I've never lived in tornado country... although I'd never consider it either.

  5. We had several hours of storm last night where I am in Texas, fortunately just torrential rain and thunder and lightning. Two weeks ago a tornado went through a few miles south, near where my grandparents' farm used to be. I like the sound of rain and thunder and even wind -- but can do without the damage!

That night of thunder and lightning, we had very little rain. Thankfully... no tornadoes!

  6. Quoting my man Bruce Springsteen.......very impressive! Hearing him perform this song live is like a religious experience. Hope you've had the pleasure!

Best of luck on the surgery Tuesday. Hope your recovery is quick and not painful!

I heard him perform it with you in the mid '70s across the street from the Brooklyn Academy of Music! Thanks for the good wishes.

  7. I have discovered a white noise app complete with ocean waves, storms, boats rocking etc. It's the closest I can get to your more fortunate real thing.

I used to have sound spa. It died. So I'm grateful I can usually hear the surf at night... or the random storm.

  8. Okay, in this instance, I am like San Geraldo and the cats, while Carlos is like you.

Long ago, while living in our Miami house, we went through a hurricane. i was up, pacing and panicked and practicing escape routes and picking places to hide when the roof came off--luckily, only part of the downstairs roof came off--while Carlos snored ... and snored ... and snored.

I imagine if he hadn't been sleeping, he might have been taking pictures, too!

Well, I wouldn't be so calm (comatose) during a hurricane -- especially one that "only" took part of the downstairs roof!

  9. The air will be fresh this morning and you'll notice the difference. Time to snuggle!

  10. I wonder if a thunder shirt would work for cats like they do dogs. You would probably get maimed in the process of putting it on them though...

I had no idea what a thundershirt was. So I looked it up. Ha!
