Soon Within My Tapestry

As Carole King wrote, "My life has been a tapestry..."  And, although, the patterns of my life haven't always been harmonious, they at least continue to be interesting.

(Click the images to experience the symphony of colours and patterns here in Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol this month.)

Interestingly, I don't see as much of this in summer when the town is mostly Spanish. (I just thought I'd mention that.)

FOREVER PLAID...
AND SOMETHING ELSE.

Just what is it they're here for and, more importantly, where ought they go?

And, yes, I know this isn't actually an example of tapestry but I don't know any songs [that I like] about patchwork quilts.

  1. Every time we see a wonderful combo of plaids and stripes, Mitchell, we think of you!! It must be a north American thing!! lol

The fashionistas I've shared are mostly British. What ever happened to when they were fab?

  2. Those 'fashions' would make a great patchwork quilt, but not much else! Well, good for a chuckle and smirk too.

Between the fashion parade and the beautiful music, you've put a smile on my face. xx

They would make a great quilt. Interesting that they don't all work as well for me as clothing. And again, if I've put a smile on your face, my work is done!

  3. Guess you could have added Dolly Parton singing A Coat of Many Colors ;-) My favorite (not) is the middle bottom... those orange plaid pants and red striped shirt next to the unionjack handbag hurts my eyes!

I think I used Dolly sometime back for the same theme. And I agree about that middle bottom!

  5. Sometimes I think people pack for vacation in the dark, it is simply the only explanation.

We have a cousin who, to be polite, calls it "special."

  7. Judging by the hand and arm holding of the perpetrators of fashion crime I wonder if they just don't care how they look any more or if their partners are aiding and abetting? An amazing display, regardless. Cheers!

I used to think it was the wives' faults. But I just don't know. I'm sure there are same-sex couples with the same fashion sense (non-sense?); and then whose responsible? Quite often, however, we see couples in coordinating outfits. Even worse, in my opinion. But who am I to judge?

  8. Number one in red and green takes the prize with number four in his socks as runner up.

Number One was definitely hard on my eyes, and yet so "spiffy." And I also thought Number Four really stepped (or down) his game with those socks.

Sometimes the combinations are a bit too much for me to look at for more than a glance. But I really do now enjoy the colours and vibrance. I've even taken to wearing odd pairings around the house. Sadly (not really sadly) I don't have things like the above to combine, but I'm grateful they do.
