Cherry Cherry

In Brooklyn, the flowering trees were in all their blooming glory. Apple, crab apple, cherry, magnolia, and many more not pictured or named here. (Click the images.)

  1. We have several trees on our property that bloom so beautifully, but the cherry blossoms really do look gorgeous!

When I was a kid, we used to drive to D.C. and see the cherry blossoms every year. Always breathtaking.

  2. Totally beautiful time of the year around here, too. Crabapples and cherries and magnolias and things I don't recognize but that make it glorious for a few weeks after a dragged out gray-and-brown period when the snow is gone but the weather is still coldish.

We've got lots blooming all year here, but there's nothing like those flowering trees to take your breath away.

  3. The weather here is very like yours; it's a bit farther to the ocean though. Two hours to the Atlantic, one hour to the Gulf. Woe is me!

Well, it's not like you gave up the seashore for Florida, but I would miss the water.

  5. Rain might have diminished some of the DD's view, but it's still pretty.

And to the right of that view is a view of the ocean. A really great spot.

I used to know what all the different trees were. I might have to do some studying.

  7. I love spring! My sister is visiting from New England, and she is amazed at how much we have in bloom, and, actually, now already past blooming (all of our flowering fruit trees are past the color stage now, tulips are finished, peonies are juuuuust starting to almost flower). When she goes home, she'll have a second spring to look forward to :)
I'm glad you got to have these beautiful sights for your trip to the U.S.!

Tulips and daffodils were in abundance in New York, too. It sounds beautiful where you are. I miss the spring blooms of that climate... but not that climate!

Perfect light, perfect sky, and early in the full-bloom cycle. Incredible.

I love them, too. We don't have those same kinds here, but I won't complain.
