Quite the collection, Mitchell. Think I like the middle one the best.

The middle one was so unusual and I loved the entire doors (with his twin brother).

  2. I like the way your cat crosses his front paws while sleeping – ours does too sometimes. I think it means that they are very contented. I love your pictures of door knockers. I guess you have to be in a city to see these, but even in US cities I don’t think they have such ornate ones. Of course around here you’d have to walk to the front doors and, being Georgia, it would be a bit dangerous – too many firearms…

Dudo, especially, will cross his legs just to be elegant I think. When we lived in Sevilla, I could spend a day just taking pictures of the door knockers. Our town has them, but Málaga has many more. Thankfully, we're not big on firearms here.

You missed my way-back-when blog post about Sevilla's knockers. http://mitchellismoving.blogspot.com.es/2011/08/nice-knockers.html It's impossible for me to see a door knocker without going into that entire scene.

      I love good knockers too.

And others stole it after that! But, don't worry. I stole it in 2011 when I did a knockers blog from Sevilla.

I loved those, too, as you can tell. I also love the little "speak-easy" window. "Joe sent me."

Some homes in Sevilla had especially old and grand knockers. And some actually cemented them to the 'clacker???' because tourists couldn't control themselves and just had to try them.

Only if your old ones have gotten rusty.

  8. At first I was, "Knockers? Really? Has this blog become THAT?"
Then I realized it was door knockers and all was right with the world again!

Oh, please, this blog came to THAT a long time ago. But I think I was a bit more appropriate than my first time with knockers (in Spain) (on doors)... http://mitchellismoving.blogspot.com.es/2011/08/nice-knockers.html

  9. I couldn't help being reminded of a line from "Two and a Half Men": "Who's Vod Kanockers?"

I didn't remember that line, so I checked it out on Youtube. Thanks for the good laugh! The names Vod. Vod Kanockers.

These walks in search of knockers are so much fun. I'm thinking of doing one all around the old parts of Málaga. Many more opportunities there.

    2. I agree Mitch ~ "Malaga Knockers at your service" or something a wee bit inspiring. I'd be intrigued with your finds!
