Meet The Neighbors

On my way back from coffee this morning, I bumped into four of our year-round neighbors. Our building is fairly empty much of the year. During the summer months, out-of-town owners, many from Córdoba, come down to enjoy time at the beach.

The building will be completely full during the month of August. But throughout the rest of the year, we have it (and the pool... and the elevators!!!) primarily to ourselves.... except for those four year-round neighbors I mentioned earlier. They're all charming and two, especially, are extremely stylish.

AND GAVE ME HER BEST SIDE.

They are, but too bad it's related to eye problems and not just vanity.

  2. You know more of you neighbors than we do, there is the wiener dog on the ground floor, and his housekeper.

These two (and their dogs) and another family of five (the porter's family and their dog) are the only ones we know by name.

One adult and one very, very, very old dog! The black dog is I think 17 and the white one is 8.

  4. No plaids or stripes, either!

  5. Okay, I am probably gullible... but, do they really put sunglasses on the dogs down there? When do Moose and Dudo get their little pairs of sunglasses? (Or did you just have the owners pose their pups for the fabulous look of the photo?)

The black dog is extremely old, blind and nearly deaf. The white dog is 8 with eye problems. They both wear real doggie sunglasses to protect their eyes, which are very sensitive to the sun. They were both rescue dogs and are seriously loved.

  6. Friends of Buddy - except he would have those sunglasses snapped into bits before I could turn around.

The black dog is blind and almost completely deaf -- and I think 17 years old!!! They both have severe sensitivity to light. They must know how much the sunglasses help because they are very cooperative.

  7. If they are the dogs the mind boggles about their owners. I bet they are amazingly stylish too. The dogs look fantastic. Thank you.

The dogs wear the sunglasses because their eyes can't tolerate the sun. The black dog is ancient and blind. The white dog has eye problems. Otherwise they wouldn't be so apparently pretentious. The owners, however, are an extremely elegant and stylish couple... and charming, too. They rescued both dogs and have had them for years.

They are, but it's too bad it's for their health.

The owners are very stylish. The dogs look that way, but they're both simply old with serious eye problems. I think the little black dog is around 17!!!

  10. Dogs seem to dress better than tourists in your corner of the world.

Well, they ARE locals dogs. Tourist dogs on the other hand...

Both are rescue dogs. Both very timid. The older (black one) is about 17, blind, and almost deaf. They adore their owners, still have a very good life, and could have used Sophie for some dog therapy!

This would warm his heart. Both rescues. They've had this home for years now and had been treated very badly before they were rescued. Very timid with strangers and adorable with their owners.
