Withdrawal Symptoms / Síndrome De Abstinencia

We are suffering from Cat Withdrawal. Specifically, Dudo and Moose Withdrawal. I haven't seen many cats on our travels, but I've made friends with everyone I've met.

We've met some members of San Geraldo's extended family up here in Vesterålen (this district and collection of islands in Northern Norway), and we feel so lucky. I've told them that Alice, San Geraldo´s mother, would have adored them. And that's the highest compliment I can pay anyone.

We had mostly blue skies yesterday (between the rain). Today is glorious. But rain and much colder temperatures will be here after today, which means I will NOT be getting San Geraldo on a boat this trip! We will head home Tuesday and give Dudo and Moose more hugs than they can stand.

  1. One of my favourite breeds of cat is the Norwegian Forest Cat. :) I bet your Dudo and Moose are missing you too! ;)

Moose will be all over us the minute we walk in the door. Dudo will give us attitude for several hours and then will be glued to us for weeks.

  2. I am sure that Moose and Dudo will be over-joyed to see you guys as well!! Mind you, they may not wish to go overboard in showing you this....cats!!
WOW! What a beautiful place Norway is!

I just responded to Snoskred that Moose will readily forget we deserted him, while Dudo will give some attitude and then not let us out of his sight (or touch). Can't wait to see them.

The longing started immediately. Uf! Really, really missing them -- although I did get to cuddle some goats and pet some sheep the other day.

  4. That third picture is really beautiful, though I wouldn't share any Kitty Pics with Dudo and Moose right away; they'll no doubt be very annoyed with you both for going away!

I won´t even tell the kids we met any cats while we were away. The first cat followed us all the way down the mountain from our cousins´ house in Bergen -- after he hissed a dog away!

  5. I'll bet those sweeties are missing you tons!
For my upcoming trip to Paris, we have found "Le Café des Chats" -- Cat Café! They have adopted cats roaming around/sleeping quietly inside the café. Can't wait :) (Allergy eye drops will be coming with me.)

Wow, we would love that cat cafe... except I suppose it would make us miss the boys even more. Two days more!!!

  6. Oh sheesh! I'm putty in their paws. All irresistible, but especially Ginger's wide, WIDE eyes - and oh, and that little black nosey! I'd want to scoop them all up and take them home. Why don't you do just that? Go on, just for me.

I could have scooped them all up but they all already have homes!

I'm sure they are, but they're also being spoiled rotten by our house-sitters.

These cats all have homes and are clearly well-fed and loved. They sure were beauties!

  10. interesting markings on the several of the Norwegian cats and they are all beauties. But they are not Dudo and Moose, are they? You will have a fine reunion.

Not as many as I'd like to see, but they only make us miss our own more.
