The Kid Brother And FaceTime / El Hermanito Y FaceTime

La version español está después de la versión inglés.

HI CHUCK, I said, I saw you but now it looks like your hand is over the lens... Oops! Now that's gone and it's black. I think you've got the cover blocking the camera on your iPad again.

"I know. I know." Well, then move the cover so I can see you.

"It's OK." No, it's not. I want to see you.

"I know. I know." So fix the cover.

"I know. I know." Chuck, the cover blocks the camera. That's been the problem every week.

"Yeah. I know. I know." Well, then just take off the cover so I can see you.

"Then I gotta start all over again!" No. You can just..."

"But then it won't stand up." Ah... but you can lean it like I do...

"I'll do it next time. Next time." OK, wise guy, but I expect to SEE you next time!

"OK. OK."

Another enlightening (in the dark) conversation with The Kid Brother.

¿Recuerda?

"¡Entonces tengo que empezar de nuevo!" No. Tú puedes simplemente ... "

"Pero entonces no se mantendrá." Ah, pero puedes inclinarte como yo ...

"Lo haré la próxima vez. La proxima vez." OK, chico listo, pero espero VERTE la próxima vez!

"OK. OK."

Otra conversación esclarecedora (en la oscuridad) con The Kid Brother (El Hermanito).

  1. You are the BEST brother, Mitch! Chuck is very fortunate to have you in his corner. And.....you are to have him in yours all these years!

You're exactly right. And he doesn't like to look at himself either, which could be the entire reason behind him covering the lens. I might look into the app "Hide My Face."

We're a bit like Abbot and Costello or Laurel and Hardy. But we switch off roles.

  4. I love the pictures. He looks well! Has he been working out? Hmmm, maybe he should get that mole checked out. Did he always have that?

Doesn't he look great? He just finished bowling season and is now playing softball. Keeps him in shape. I hadn't noticed the mole!

Never! And since mine is perpetually 6 years old in many ways, we've been having the same conversations for a very long time.

Hope you had a great trip! FaceTime has been a lifesaver with my brother... especially when I actually get some time with his face. But, even if I don't see him, he's much more relaxed when he can see me. Phone conversations are rarely fun with him.

And the Spanish word for internet is internet. Software is software. But they are said with a Spanish accent... if that makes you feel any better.

And one more to complete your already fascinating day: "red" is the Spanish word for "network"... I have no idea why.

  8. (Raising my hand) "Can I make a question?" When was the last time you actually saw him then? It seems as if this was not the first time this happened.

As I said before, you sure do ask a lot of f#$#n questions! Before Norway, I did see him after 2 weeks of not seeing him. So, it's been another few weeks. But I do sometimes get a glimpse. I realize the real problem is he doesn't like to see his own image. I've got a fix for that that I'll teach him next time.

Phone conversations are torture. FaceTime is so much easier. Even if I can't see him, he's more relaxed because he can see me. So grateful for modern technology. Are video calls any better with your brother?
