Every Picture / Cada Foto

EVERY PICTURE TELLS a story (don't it)...

CADA FOTO CUENTA una historia (verdad)...

AT LOS BOLICHES BEACH ACROSS THE STREET.
EN LA PLAYA DE LOS BOLICHES AL OTRO LADO DE LA CALLE.

"Make the best out of the bad, just laugh it off..."
"Hacer el mejor fuera de los justos malos..."

This guy was a regular fixture at the beach last year before I left for NY. Elena and I would see him daily, and always in this same pose. I snapped the shot to share with her only to notice after how odd it was.

I had snapped the photo as a joke for our friend Elena. This guy seems to have this one pose. After the fact, I spotted the head!

It looks kind of like a "big" finish to me.

It was meant as a joke for our friend Elena. He's a regular and always takes that pose. The head in the sand (on the sand?) was a surprise when I downloaded the photos.

I hadn't thought of it as sun block. Great idea.

I would think the conservative Catholic country of Spain would not permit such.

I would definitely not describe Spain as a conservative Catholic country. Much more liberal and enlightened than the United States. And that head in the sand was probably topless... Uh... bottomless?

    2. Now how did that transition happen I wonder? This gives me hope. If Franco/fascism and go to what I see in your blog than there is hope here.

Interesting story. One very well-written book helps explain it: "The New Spaniards" by John Hopper.
