Genetic Mutations / Mutaciones Genéticas

La version español está después de la versión inglés.

IS THERE NO hope for me? First, I discovered not one but two photos of my grandfather in what I considered questionable pattern combinations. And now, while finally going through a box of photos we shipped from My Mother The Dowager Duchess' apartment last year, I came upon a photo of my grandmother with one of her brothers. I'm very concerned now that, like Diabetes, which I inherited from both grandmothers, I may have this latent genetic disorder as well.

Oh, never mind. This could be a lot more fun than Diabetes (except San Geraldo says he won't let me out of the house).

Oh, no importa. Esto podría ser mucho más divertido que la Diabetes (excepto San Geraldo dice que no me dejará salir de la casa).

IN CASE YOU'VE FORGOTTEN, HERE'S MY GRANDFATHER IN THE 1980s. (CLICK HERE AND HERE FOR THE POSTS.)
SI HAS OLVIDO, AQUÍ ESTÁ MI ABUELO EN LOS AÑOS 80. (HAZ CLIC AQUÍ Y AQUÍ PARA LAS ENTRADAS.)
AND GRANDMA WITH ONE OF HER BROTHERS (WHO WAS KNOWN FOR BEING VERY DAPPER). FOREVER PLAID?
Y LA ABUELA CON UNO DE SUS HERMANOS (QUIEN FUE CONOCIDO POR SER MUY APUESTO). PARA SIEMPRE TARTÁN?

Well, the jury is still out. They both had much tamer style in their early years.

  3. These men weren't fashion victim; nope, they attacked fashion and lived to tell the tale!

  6. Good thing you have SG to keep you from going out looking like that. What characters your grandparents et al. were! You probably did inherit that bit (the character bit, that is). You may as well revel in it, because there is no escape.

Unfortunately, although San Geraldo would never ever combine patterns like that, I HAVE at times made him change, telling him "You are NOT going out like that."

  7. Oh oh oh! The pain! Please, please tell me you have no suits, shirts or ties that look anything like those. Please! Underpants I'll forgive...

I have GREAT plaid underpants... And, although I don't have these specific looks, I do have some jackets, shirts, and ties that would combine just as well!

  8. That's so bad it's almost cool. It has an air of "I don't give a damn." Yeah, my fashion sense probably isn't any better.

My parents recently dug up a photo of my grandfather, and I discovered that I look identical to him. Identical. But he's a gambling alcoholic adulterer who's involved in the mob, so... I'm hoping that's where the similarity ends.

If they were in their 20s, it would definitely be called cool. I resemble my grandfather in absolutely no way whatsoever. Maybe I SHOULD adopt his later style.

You're right. I should be ashamed of myself.... However, these bold fashion statements are growing on me (or maybe they're wearing me down).

  12. Those are some stylish outfits. All I remember my grandfather wearing was brown suits to go along with his brown tie and brown fedora.

I wonder if anyone thought anything of it at the time. I was there and I don't remember noticing it.
