Letting Sleeping Cats Lie

DO NOT DISTURB...

MOOSE AND DUDO FELL ASLEEP MID-WRESTLING MATCH  SUNDAY AFTERNOON.
(CLICK ANY IMAGE TO ENLARGE.)

MOOSE, IN HIS BED, ON MY BED, 3 IN THE MORNING.
(THE ONLY LIGHT CAME FROM THE FLASH; HE DIDN'T EVEN FLINCH. SO MUCH FOR CAT NAPS.)

SAN GERALDO. EVERY PARTY NEEDS A POOPER. (HE STILL DOES THIS.)
(CHECK OUT HIS SOCKS AND SHIRT. AT LEAST HE DOESN'T STILL DO THAT.)

AND NOW IT'S TIME FOR MY SIESTA.

  1. It's getting cooler here in Smallville so our gatos have taken to turning themselves into tightly would, tiny fur-balls to conserve heat.
    The quiet is deafening.

Cooler here too ... and gray today, so only a few people swimming. The cats did miss the sun.

  2. Love these pics, you sleepyheads! That first one of the cats is really cool and graphic (not x-rated graphic! The design kind of graphic!) :)

Together they form some of the most graphic designs -- sometimes like mirror images. Usually, Dudo will look up or Moose will turn away when I'm about to snap the picture.

  3. It's funny how any animosity a cat may have towards another takes a back seat when it wants a warm body to cuddle up to.

In that top photo, they had just chased each other around the house, had a face-off, got into that position and were kicking each other... One second later, they were asleep. So easy.

The shirt and socks combination looks like something we'd see on the streets of Fuengirola, doesn't it?

I tend to call it Finnish Style... I found a website about Helsinki street style. It's not much different... except maybe más chulo.

  5. First the siesta, and then a nice cool pitcher of sangria. Yum!

I went to Sandpiper Restaurant and had some vino tinto instead. I'm not fruity enough for Sangria... I mean Sangria's too fruity for me... Well, I just don't like it much. (Oh, and some Bailey's Irish Cream after dinner.)

  6. Your cats are so beautiful together although Moose languishing in his cat bed has a wonderfully gorgeous tummy I'd like to rub.

As you can tell, I'm in love with them. Although Dudo has much less of a tummy, it's still irresistible.

  7. You have the sweetest cats Mitch!
I don't know about those socks and shirt, but just look at that cool ashtray and stand! I remember those.
And now you have me yawning! Thanks!

It's incredible to consider, isn't it, that those ash trays (and other decorative ashtrays) were so common and such an important part of the decor! Sorry about the yawning, but it's 11:19 p.m. here and I'm off to bed early tonight. Good luck staying awake another several hours!

  8. #1: In the sleeping-San-Geraldo-as-a-kid photo, is that a U.S. States puzzle the rest of the kids are playing with?
#2: What the heck is up with the cutey patooty little boy with the light blue shirt, whose face looks like he was just squirted in the eye with lemon juice? :)
#3: Ha, you know you're reading a favorite blog when you can immediately recognize the baby photos of the blogger :)
#4: I am still the biggest fan in the world of Moose and Dudo!

      1. I hadn't noticed, but it sure looks like it. Those are San Geraldo's two sisters (in their matching outfits). I'll ask.
      2. That's a cousin. He looks to me like a character Norman Rockwell might have created.
      3. I love that!
      4. They're so worthy!

  9. The cats look wonderful together. They look like they may be hard to tell apart. Wait, much more white on the neck on one.

Yes, Moose has more black (or Dudo has more white). One of these days, I'll get good comparison photos and will mark them up.

  10. Non-sleeping cats lie, too. As in: No, I did not just lick that chicken on the table.

When caught doing what they shouldn't, dogs look guilty, cats look insulted.

  11. You got me yawning ~~ yes it is contagious. Poor San Geraldo curling up on the lazyboy chair, so 1960's, yup we had one too. You are a great yawner, don't take that personally now.

    Winks!

We didn't have one of those chairs at our house. My mother was way too cool. Our den had an orange vinyl couch with a wrought iron frame... plus "calypso" curtains. Very '50s!
