Over The Moon

Hey diddle diddle
The cat and the fiddle...

San Geraldo and I were just the other day talking about this nursery rhyme. To be specific, San Geraldo said something about the cat jumping over the moon. I don't know why. I gave him a moment to re-think it. He looked at me and said, "That's not right. It was the cow, wasn't it?"

Nothing gets past San Geraldo.

Sunday night, I went for a walk before dinner hoping to run into the half-naked male Brazilian dancers (referenced in the previous two posts). That didn't happen, I'm sorry to report. I'll keep trying. But only because I know how important it is to all of you.

And, although I didn't see the half-naked male Brazilian dancers, with San Geraldo's version of the nursery rhyme running through my head, I did see some cats on the beach in Los Boliches. And they looked like they were trying to jump over the moon. (Click any image to 'full' the moon.)

HEY DIDDLE DIDDLE
THE CAT AND THE FIDDLE
THE COW JUMPED OVER THE MOON
THE LITTLE DOG LAUGHED
 TO SEE SUCH SPORT
AND THE DISH RAN AWAY WITH THE SPOON.

Last week, long before the supermoon, I saw a 'nearmoon.' (Of course, it occurs with much more frequency.)

Thanks! Was pleased with some of the moon (supermoon) shots. As for the nearmoon, I've now got a collection of those. Just imagine what you have to look forward to?

That's an old English nursery rhyme that we grew up with. It apparently dates back to the 1500s!

  4. That "nearmoon" shot looks like a disaster waiting to happen. Great shots of the beach. I haven't thought of that nursery rhyme in ages.

I have a lot more nearmoons to share even though it's not easy to surreptitiously snatch a shot!

  5. If only those half-naked male Brazilian dancers would show you a half moon, so that you could show us.

I've never seen such an acrobatic rendition of a children's nursery rhyme.

I'm hoping to catch (if only) the half-naked male Brazilian dancers tonight. Maybe if I ask nicely?

  9. I learned that nursery rhyme about 70 years or so ago.... but never had any acrobatics to illustrate it. I'm woefully behind on blogs.... damned internet service here (or lack of)... but sure hope I don't miss the nearly naked dancers... your cougar friend, S.

Too bad about your internet service, but it looks like other than that it's a great summer.

Thanks so much. Trying not to bore you while I entertain myself! By the way,I've had challenges loading your blog posts lately, which is why I've been so slow to comment. I think maybe my aged computer just can't keep up with your exciting life.
