Very well put!!!!!! Beautiful twin cats!!! They set a good example for sure. I sometimes miss having a cat, long story, but at heart, I really am a dog person, though friends say I'm more cat like, lol
Mistress Maddie: Others have been so eloquent; I just feel heart-broken.
I adore dogs and fall in love with everyone I see in the neighborhood. But dogs require much more "maintenance" (walks, picking up poop, etc.). Jerry has been telling people that "WE" are really close to getting a dog. I wasn't aware of that, really. I think it's the royal "we" (Jerry and God).
It probably won't be until Christmas season before anyone wants to talk about feel-good stuff like peace. Until then, it will be about hate, revenge guns and more guns! It makes me so very sad.
I feel the same as you about dogs, Mitchell :) And about peace, love, and respect.... and not knowing how on earth to put into words the horror about this latest tragedy.
Be brave my friend/s Let your tears fall Mingle with mine To gather in a pool Of lingering emptiness For we are just people Of different shades Who feel the pain....
I love my babies, that's my cats, and we talk to them as if they are human, that's me and P. My mother had a shared cat called Felix, he belonged to my brother and spent the day with her and the nights with him, and she always said "he's like a human" because he understood her and knew what she wanted before she did. Simple. I don't like confrontation and disagreements and I was brought up to turn the other cheek. We always tolerated everybody. That's all I can say except everything makes me sad at the momentxx
Rachel: We live in terrible times but, sadly, I think every generation has lived in terrible times. Good, too, but that doesn't make up for terrible so many people have to suffer. Years ago, we had a Yellow-Naped Amazon parrot that we hand-reared. He was on my shoulder when my father's best friend called to tell me to get in the car quick because my father would soon die. I hung up the phone and cried and the parrot rubbed his head up and down against my cheek making soothing, cooing sounds. Amazing!
I am stunned by these events happening over and over again. All citizens have to speak up and demand changes in the laws that govern gun control. Until then, let's all take a collective breath and set a good example of peace, love and mutual respect, as you suggest, Mitchell.
Your words and picture say it all. Unfortunately there is nothing anyone can do to rid the world of evil maniacs. They have always been around. If you take away the guns they will find something else, but it does seem that guns make it so much easier for them.

DeleteSad but true. At least you and I can talk about peace.
One day, it will be better xx

DeleteToo bad so many won't be here to see it. But people like you give me faith.

DeleteI'm grateful to have blessings to count right now. Wish everyone did.

DeleteSee? If I knew the bible I wouldn't have struggled so much with what to say!
You do just fine on your own.

Of lingering emptiness
For we are just people
Of different shades
Who feel the pain....

Your words say so much... wish we all could live by that.

DeleteIf only!
even two out of three wouldn't be bad. Peace to you, Mitchell.
ReplyDeleteWilma:
DeleteYou're so right... as long as one of those is peace.
Peace...peace...PEACE!!!!!
ReplyDeleteStephen:
DeleteYep. That's the one.
Your wish is mine.

DeleteI wonder what it will take to stop the rich and powerful National Rifle Association. They own a great many politicians.
Everyone's done a great of saying what I can only feel. The love on this blog is uplifting during this time of grief?

DeleteI agree with you. So many have been so eloquent. I figured I would simply share what I had to share.
If only, Mitchell.
