A common sight on our beaches is kids performing aerial feats using a stability ball buried in the sand or a Bosu ball (a half ball) wedged in firmly.
On my walk past the castle and back the other day, I watched one exceptionally talented teen and one of his friends. The athlete pictured always landed on his feet. His friend? Sometimes.

THE FRIEND. "JORGE, ARE YOU OK?" HE ASKED HIM IN SPANISH. HE GOT NO RESPONSE.
"JORGE, ARE YOU OK?" STILL NO RESPONSE.
"JORGE, IF YOU'RE OK, GET OUT OF THE WAY. IF NOT, CALL YOUR MOTHER!"
JORGE GOT OUT OF THE WAY. |
WOW and LOL!
ReplyDeleteLove the photography, Mitchell!
Isn't beach life the BEST?!
Jim:
DeleteIt is... Jerry and I are going to give the Bosu ball a try (not).
Cuties. I'd have fallen for Jorge's shenanigans.
ReplyDeleteI imagine a stability ball and a nice patch of beach would be much cheaper and more enjoyable than a psychiatrist and supply of anti-anxiety meds.
Kisses, Mitchell.
Robyn:
DeleteJorge seemed like he had a bit of a catastrophic imagination (or he was at minimum a drama queen). The brilliant acrobat was a bit of a perfectionist and very intense and bossy. Possibly still a fizzy-a-key-a-trist in their futures!
The jumping, the bouncing, the flying, the flipping is so fun.
ReplyDeleteIt's the landing that sometimes sucks.
Kinda like life?
Bob:
DeleteJust like life. Poor Jorge. He REALLY slammed into the sand... and his friend had no sympathy. Then again, when he told him to call his mother, Jorge was up and seemingly unscathed!
Not for the aged men, I am glad to say :-)
ReplyDeleteHeron:
DeleteThat's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!
Who was it who said: Youth, a shame to waste it on the young. I love the incredible energy.
ReplyDeleteStephen:
DeleteI see them do these things and think, "Oh, I wish I were young enough to do that." Then I laugh to myself and think, I was never THAT young!!!
Looks like fun - to watch!
ReplyDeleteWilma:
DeleteI'm with you. I would try it myself but then who would take the pictures?
I could sit on the sidelines and applaud...
ReplyDeleteCranky:
DeleteThat's all I did... oh, no applause though (I have no idea why). He pretended to be alone on the beach, except for waiting for people to get out of the way of his running start and his landing.
I think that kid's hair is more dangerous than his flipping off that ball...
ReplyDeleteWalt the Fourth:
DeleteI think he has it styled just so it looks good when he's flying through the air. It WAS an amazing head of hair.
If I tried that I would break something.
ReplyDeleteTravel:
DeleteMe, too. No doubt about it. I'd be calling for Jorge's mother.
The ultimate threat... "I'll call your mother". My son just turned 54 and I think that still works for (or is that against) him ;-)
ReplyDeleteSharon:
DeleteIt would work for ME, too, and I'm older than 54...
Oh my goodness, if i tried that I would be in the hospital for a week LOL
ReplyDeleteOptimistic Existentialist:
DeleteI'd be next to you. And I'd still be there long after you'd gone home!
