Bad Mood No Reason

I've been having a challenging day. I started off in a bad mood. No good reason. We met Jessica and Juan Carlos for lunch at Meson Salvador and spent an absolutely wonderful couple of hours in good, interesting, loving and relaxing company. I came home in a good mood. An hour later, it was not so good again. I did some blog reading and was inspired and in a better mood. But the cloud has returned. So, I'm going to take a little walk in the sunshine with San Geraldo and I'll leave you with a few shots of happiness on our terrace.

A CLOUDY DAY?
IF YOU GET REALLY CLOSE, YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO SMELL THE JASMINE.
OLEANDER.

  1. Here's hoping that the walk helped :) I took one this morning! It's been ages. I have been battling a cold, but I think the increased circulation from the walk helped my sad little nose open up a bit. All of the houses I get to walk by are beautifully landscaped, so that makes for a really lovely walk. It's a beautiful day here in St. Louis, but nothing like the view I see from you terrace!

  2. Don't you hate it when that happens, Mitchell! Even this beautiful view won't help. I know. And even these blooms and scent can't help sometimes either. By the way that Jasmine smelled wonderful!!
Hope the walk helped. Sometimes we just have to go along with the mood like we do with the good moods we have.

  3. Thanks for showing us the oleander, I have never seen it before...such warm pastel colour. Jasmine is familiar when I visit a florist. Now muddle on through the cloudiness and Sophie sends her LICKS!!

Oleander grows weed-like in Southern California. It's planted as a tall, dense hedge/windbreak on freeways. Many people refer to it as "freeway flower."

  4. Jasmine and oleander? *sigh*

Sometimes the clouds just happen; seems they don't really need a reason, just like rain. And, just like rain, this too will pass. As a wise person once said "the only permanent thing is change", I find that idea rather hopeful.

Enjoy your walk with the Saint, and don't smile until you're darn good and ready to!

The clouds blow through my head as suddenly as the winds blow through Fuengirola. All is well today. The walk was great. I was ready to smile within a few minutes.

Some days I get lost in the view (a very good thing). Today, I had a long walk in the sun while running a bunch of errands (successfully!) Two hours on the beach this afternoon. All's well.

  6. I hope the walk was good. I like the map of Australia in the sky.

I love it! I hadn't noticed the map of Australia. I should have known it wasn't really a cloud!

  8. Walking makes my life better.... I don't know if it's the exercise or just getting my mind out of the house... but it's hard to stay in a funk . Love your cloudy day... that made me laugh.

See Andrew's comment above. Turns out it wasn't a cloud afterall. It was the map of Australia.

It's a constant battle. Insects and winds. Jerry finally trashed the big bottle brushes this week. Over-run. It's a constant battle. I'm thinking Zen garden. Of course, rocks. No need for another sandstorm.

  11. Walking is always a help for me and I hope for you, too. I've never been successful growing Jasmine though I really love it. Perhaps it does grow better near a beach in Spain than on the shores of Lake Erie. May you be well, Mitchell.

Walking usually changes everything for me. It did last night. The jasmine thrives here... except for San Geraldo's cyclonic winds and all the rotten bugs the winds blow in.

  13. Your jasmine is playing hell with my hay fever! (It doesn't look quite as purty as the other two).

The fragrance of the jasmine is what does it for me, especially around sunset when it's strongest. As a flower, it's small and understated. Now that it's growing lushly on the trellises, it's making more of a statement. Sorry about the hay fever (I just completed sneezing fit number 2 of the day).
