We Are The Goon Squad And We're Coming To Town... Beep Beep

As I've told you before, I will not judge others for what they wear. They probably think my taste and combinations are a bit peculiar, too. But I will continue to share some of the more "special" fashions I see.

IT WAS A BEACH BALL.
CHECK, MATE!
A LITTLE SOMETHING FROM BELGIUM.
THE BRITISH ISLES... A TOUCH OF FLOWERS AND CALYPSO?
FLOWERS EVERYWHERE.
ANOTHER DAY... FROM BELGIUM.
TRES CHIC COMING...
EVEN BETTER GOING.
HELLY KITTY!

Fashion. Turn to the right.

  1. Hmmmm. I see that 'look-at-me' is back in fashion. Roll on a return to understatement!

  2. Oh, the horror of it all!!! Are you sure these weren't taken at Wal-Mart or Branson, Mo.?

Doesn't more of the body have to be exposed for Wal-Mart and/or Branson style? We've got those too!

  3. Call me crazy--it's okay it won't be the first time--but I actually like picture #3 with the stripes and the plaid.
I've actually worn a similar creation.

Ironically, the more I look at the photos, the more I like the combinations. Anyway, #3 is the tamest of the bunch... and I'm sure you can carry it off beautifully.

  4. OMG! I have that blue calypso shirt. But I'd never wear it with those shorts.

Sometimes I wonder if some of these people are actually laughing as they get dressed.

      Thanks so much for visiting.

My initial reaction is often, "Oh my!" But the more I look at these photos the more the combinations grow on me. Who knows? Maybe one day I'll be sharing pictures of me in these outfits!

  6. Is the first one trying to smuggle a fitba' under his shirt? Ah, and just wait until tonight's post......muahahaha!

I haven't heard that song in ages, it made me smile. =)

I thought it was really odd that the first guy was walking down the street, proudly it seemed, with a small beach ball stuffed under his shirt. I at first thought it was a long-untended hernia!

I wonder if it's simply the beach that inspires this "style." Do you suppose they wear these outfits back in Brussels and Manchester?

  8. Hello Kitty, hahaha.

I hadn't seen that Bowie clip. Very enjoyable.

I could not believe when that guy left our cafe and headed to the beach with the gold lame HELLO KITTY tote (but, admittedly, I did crop his granddaughter out of this photo)!

  9. Well if nothing else it is colourful. You obviously do not have a nice Italian Fashion store near you. Pity.

Oh, we actually do have a number of very nice fashion stores (of many origins) near us. I think these people came already armed. (Actually, the guy with the HELLO KITTY bag was wearing obviously expensive designer clothes. I just don't know if they designers intended for him to put them together that way.)

  11. One can expect the vast majority of 'straight men' to have no fashion sense at all.....is that being fair and overly stereo-typing straight men?
And from your photos, there are 'non-straight men' and women who appear to have the same fashion sense as well.
Can be so hard on the eyes!!
Welcome to the critics club!! lol

You won't find any stereotyping here. But, to be clear, I'm pretty certain everyone pictured was straight. The most suspect I'm sure -- the guy with the HELLO KITTY bag -- was here with his wife, his daughter and son-in-law, and his granddaughter. (But that is not to say that some of the same-sex couples I see around town are any less creative with their combinations.)

When I first went to work at the library, I decided to wear ties and that the ties should be somewhat outrageous. There was only one other guy working there, and I figured I could either be called "the old guy" or "the guy with the funny ties." I opted for funny ties.

Your shirts are works of art. But do you wear un-coordinated (by my standards and no one else's) shorts along with them? (And do you carry a gold lamé HELL KITTY tote?)
