There Is Nothing You Can Take

As I mentioned at the end of July, I started a new 3-day-per-week workout. It's called "You Are Your Own Gym." (Click here if you missed out.) Then my mood crashed and I didn't stick with it. But, now that I've been on my increased anti-depressant meds dosage for a couple of weeks (and I'm now feeling the effects), I decided to restart the program.

Monday was great. What a workout, followed later in the day by a great walk. Dudo finds my new workout fascinating — especially my exercise mat.

LEFT AND...
RIGHT AND...
LEFT AND...

Tuesday (a day of rest), I just did some general exercise because I felt like it.

Wednesday, my stomach was a bit off (well more than a bit, and it began Tuesday afternoon). So, after running some errands, I didn't do much of anything.

Wednesday evening, I worried that maybe the increased dosage of my medication was causing the stomach problems.

Either that or it could be the 1/2-kilo (more than a pound) of gum drops I ate Tuesday.

Or maybe it was my after-lunch dessert Wednesday — galletas rellena de naranja con chocolate (egg sponge biscuits with orange fruit filling and chocolate).

LUNCH...

Nah, it couldn't be that. I only had half the box. See how many cookies I didn't eat?

Maybe it's San Geraldo's fault...

  1. Oh I am sure you'll find the 'culprit'!! Hope there isn't a mirror handy! lol All that sugar, it's a mystery you are not huge!
I am envious (one of the seven deadly sins, I think?) that you have a workout plan, Mitchell! I did yoga every day for years until about a year ago....a 'bum' shoulder from the war! Seeing a chiro next week to set it straight.....I hope.
Hope you are feeling better and happy the meds are 'doing their thing'.

All better. Definitely the 1/2-kilo of gum drops. As for the mirror, no problem. As a result, my abs are well-defined!

Sorry about the shoulder! It's so frustrating when you want to exercise and can't!

  2. I doubt it's the medication upsetting your stomach. I bet the culprit is that candy, unless you've recently eaten a box of instant rice.

Yep, it was definitely the candy. So, I'm back to eating the cookies (but only one or maybe two a day — 12 may have been a bit much).

You are always right. It was clearly the gum drops.

  4. Have you eaten any socks lately? A Great Dane somewhere here in the U.S. recently was feeling poorly, so his familia took him to the vet. They x-rayed him.

They found 43 socks in his stomach.

    43.

¡ ja ja ja! ¡Es verdad!

(p.s. Isn't Jean and Nick's new house just WONDERFUL!? ¡Me encanta!

I had read about that Great Dane. Incredible. But, I'm pretty sure I haven't eaten any socks... at least not lately.

Jean and Nick's house is storybook perfect. So happy for them!

  5. I think it's great that even if you don't have the energy to exercise, you still can blog. When I'm in a slump, I feel so boring and unmotivated that blogging is just too much to bother with. Thank goodness for meds! If not for them, my partner would never get out of bed or leave the house. Take care of your tummy now!

I always love to see a note from you! Sometimes, unfortunately, I don't have the energy for either exercise or blogging (or getting out of bed). I'm a strong believer in well-managed meds. They definitely saved my life... or more precisely GAVE me a life that I felt was worth saving. The tummies fine. No more gum drops... this week!

  6. You're a man of great strength and will power. Now pass over the rest of those cookies. You ate them by now, didn't you? I'm teasing you, because I would likely have finished it all off in one sitting.

Those gumdrops make for a pretty picture.

I was tempted to finish the cookies in one sitting but am really glad I didn't. I only ate 12 that day. Yesterday, I had one! You're right about my great strength and will power. I'm amazing. I might have two cookies today and I'd be happy to share the rest with you. You just need to fly to Spain.

Well, you're much classier than I. I drink about three glasses of water with lunch. But I have regularly been enjoying red when I'm out for dinner (although I don't know if you'd approve of my selection... which is usually whatever I'm given).

Fortunately, although Dudo is not as easily trained as Sophie, he is much easier to push around.
