Despite the jet lag, etc., I've had a wonderful week with San Geraldo, Dudo, and Moose, and some of our amazing friends here in Fuengirola. As for San Geraldo, my heart overflows with love every time I look at him.

ALL GONE! |
SAN GERALDO'S DEFINITION OF A "SLIVER" OF BANANA BREAD. |
Moose greeted me lovingly, coming to the door and rolling over for some petting the minute I arrived home. Dudo gave me attitude. He was on the bed in the far bedroom and stayed there. He allowed me to pet him for a moment, ears pointed to the sides, brow furrowed, staring directly into my eyes. After that moment, he stood up, stuck his nose right into my face, glared into my eyes, jumped off the bed, and left the room!
ON MY WALK WEDNESDAY. |
Later, I explained to him, "You said you don't like to 'rock the waves' which means, I guess, that you don't like to 'make boat' either."*
Oh, how I missed him.
WEDNESDAY: A BOAT NEARING THE ROCKS. |
THURSDAY: A BOAT ROCKING THE WAVES. |
The following video is an example of "Diva Tag." One singer tags the other to take over the song... at the most inopportune times. As confusing as a conversation with San Geraldo?
*The real expressions: 1) Don't rock the boat; and 2) Don't make waves.
That's what your animals were telling you as well, because you left them, you rocked the boat and made waves! ;-)
ReplyDeleteLinda:
DeleteHowever, unlike San Geraldo, the cats got the expressions right -- and in two languages.
It's always good returning home, and I'm glad you were welcomed home with open paws--after distributing gifts.
ReplyDeleteStephen:
DeleteIt's a lesson to me to never come home empty handed.
I don't know. Rocking the waves sounds like a lot of fun to me.
ReplyDeleteDamien:
DeleteI think I'd also like to make boat.
home is the best to heal your mood..
ReplyDeleteGosia:
DeleteAnd this home especially!
Some cats behave strangely after you leave them for an extended period. One of ours used to be quite vicious towards us for a day or so. Anyway, how nice it must be to be home.
ReplyDeleteAndrew:
DeleteWow! Fortunately, we've never had vicious. But one of our previous cats, Dobie, gave attitude just like Dudo. He, however, couldn't be so easily bribed.
Welcome back Mitchell!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great welcome home Apple Pie!! And I LOVE SG's def of a 'sliver'!! My kind of man!
Don't you just love cats.....Moose and Dudo couldn't be more opposite. Just like people.
Some of us like to 'rock the boat' others don't. Opposites attract .....take Ron and me for example.
Jim:
DeleteSan Geraldo (like you and Ron, I'm sure) are alike in so many important ways and then so different in others.
Uh huh!!
DeleteWinks!!
Ahhhhh, loved this one, too, Mitchell ☺️
ReplyDeleteOh, Judy, you are so kind to me!
DeleteRocking the waves sounds like a good deal of fun to me!
ReplyDeleteSO glad you're back, (and you don't even have to bribe me with toy mice) I've missed my buddy; getting welcomed back with apple pie and that wee bitty sliver of banana bread must have warmed the cockles of your heart. Loved the vid btw, hehe.
Jacqueline:
DeleteI still want to know what it's like to "make boat."
Love that Dudo gave you attitude, likely he expected to go with you to the USA and was miffed when you didn't take him (he saw the suitcases and all when you were packing). Anyone who welcomes you home with apple pie and banana bread is a keeper!
ReplyDeleteCheapchick:
DeleteAfter 33+ years, I'm pretty sure I'll keep San Geraldo! As for Dudo, he would have given me even more attitude if I had made him travel. He loves being out on the terrace but, when we've taken him out on the street in his travel cage, he hides under the pillow bottom.
Skittles beats melatonin in a double-blind study for the treatment of jet lag with depression. If this doesn't work, two days of sleep and a nice hot cup of tea won't hurt.
ReplyDeleteSpo:
DeleteI've never been a huge fan of Skittles. But I can confirm that Tootsie Rolls, Pepperidge Farm Milanos (double-chocolate), OREOS Double Stuf, and candy corn are miracle cure.
Oh Mitchell, I'm sorry you deal with bouts of beastly depression, but glad you are well loved. I'm also glad you know that the bouts are mere waves to be rocked by making boat. When one has a good man with whom to make boat and rock the waves, life couldn't be more exciting. Right? Smiles and love.
ReplyDeleteRobyn:
DeleteNo big deal It certainly makes life interesting (as long as I don't let it take over). San Geraldo is a true partner, which makes a huge difference for me. Besides, I don't think I'd know how to make boat any other way.
What a beautiful pie! Excuse the pun, but I hope you're back on an even keel soon. xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteKnatolee:
DeleteThe waves outside have been rocking but I'm back to making boat (or am I not?). Thanks!
yes that is a sliver of cake, rather small are you on a diet?
ReplyDeleteLaurent:
DeleteOh, you are a man after San Geraldo's own heart!
