Sorry about adding to the vertigo. I actually look forward to finding these combos now. I've still got more in reserve... and they just keep showing up, too.

Most of the above combos don't work for me, but I'm starting to really enjoy seeing them.

  4. Oh I've been hoping for one of these posts for *ages*! Huzzah! Huzzah!

Thanks for the Kinks, probably my favourite of their songs; your taste in music is magnificent - is it any wonder I adore you to pieces? Not IN pieces, TO pieces!

But wait! There's more! I have some in reserve that didn't fit in the two spreads. I'll try to get on a regular cycle with these. Too much to sift through otherwise. And, thanks. You know I feel the same way about your music and about you. You make any day brighter and more colourful...

  5. And here I thought Marbella was colorful!
I am a big fan of the Kinks.

And what bothered me more than anything else was the fact that the guy in the upper right picture with the competing plaids has shorts with a fabric that didn't meet up correctly!

    2. I noticed that too! The pattern not matching up is a sign of poor workmanship. And when combined with poor taste, well, the mind boggles. ;-)

I haven't listed to the Kinks for a long time. I looked for this song and then sat and listened to a whole bunch more.

Wild, isn't it? Many of these people have obviously given very careful thought to these outfits. More power to them. Who am I to define style?!?

  9. Once again, I'll say it: I LOVE to mix plaids with plaids, and plaids with stripes.

But florals? Oh honey, hell no!

I have to admit, I really like some of these. Well a couple of these. Well... one. But I can't believe you don't like the Hawaiian shirt and shorts (upper right of the second collection).

I lived in Hawaii for a time and am still abiding by the "I Hate ... And Will NEVER Wear ... Hawaiian Shirts" law that was imposed on me the day I moved there!

We should all dress to please ourselves and no one else.

  11. There was a decision to made as they dressed, to tuck in or not tuck in. The ones who really care about their appearance chose to tuck in, such as top right who carefully selected a belt to go with the ensemble. Maybe Australians aren't as bad in the fashion stakes as I thought. Or perhaps they are Australians.

    1. Andrew:
Younger rarely tuck. Older often do. But, unlike the top right guy... I would definitely NOT tuck if my shorts pattern didn't align. I'm pretty sure there was not one Australian in the bunch, but I did see someone wearing an Australian Bush Hat the other day.
