Dudo was on the den bed the other day. Usually, he looks at me when I call or simply comes running. I called his name. He just stared into space. I called again. Nothing. Then, he lowered his head slightly. And more staring. A flip to the right and up. More staring. That's when I realised a flying 'something' had caught his eye. It was a house fly. And he was clearly too lazy to do anything more than watch it.
NOT CATCHING... WATCHING FLIES. (CLICK TO ENLARGE... YOU STILL WON'T SEE THE FLY.)
I loved the post about the fans, and then ... The hotel post and the town view.... What a place! Wonderful! Of course, nothing can top the colorful photos of fly-watching Dudo :) my evening is complete:)
When something catches my pussies' attention, as long as it remains in view, nothing but NOTHING will distract them. I think your Dudo has gotten wise to the fact that trying to catch a fly is almost always a futile waste of expended energy. Wise little fella!
Linda: I have always loved this song. I used it once before on my blog, but a different version. Dudo is a great hunter. Extremely patient. I'm glad he's a house cat and we don't have mice. Moose sits on the terrace and stalks birds whenever he can, but he doesn't have Dudo's focus.
Please visit www.movingwithmitchell.com if you would like to comment or stay up to date. I stopped posting here and reproduced all previous posts, as well, 25 September 2018. Thanks!!!
Pretty Dudo!
ReplyDeletePretty colours too!
Has he ever caught one, Mitchell?
Jim:
DeleteHe catches them all the time. He can sit in one spot and wait for an hour or more.

DeleteI'd have more photos of Moose, but he usually turns his back on me when he sees the camera.
More cat photos, please!

DeleteBe careful what you wish for!

DeleteDudo is pretty amazing at fly-, mosquito-, and gnat-catching. But he choose his battles well.
I remember singing this song with my kids and laughing. My younger dog is like this when she is distracted.

Well, it's a fly! It's not like it's even a real meal.
ReplyDeletePlus, he looks cozy on the bed so ..... Dudo has the right idea.
Bob:
DeleteI think Dudo would have been happy if I had caught it and given it to him.
Cats always know best!
ReplyDeleteRon:
DeleteThat's what they tell me (the cats, the mean).
LOL I haven't heard that ditty in a long time.
ReplyDeleteSpo:
DeleteOne of my old favourites.
