Amaaaaaaazing how many of these perfectly-fitted dresses are found in Spain... there must be a business in making these for women. They must all get one or two or three along the way in their lives. Beautiful!
Judy: Most of the dresses are custom-made. If not, they're custom-altered. And many women get more than one or two or three every year. If a dress is re-worn from one festival to the next, it might be altered/adjusted so that it hardly resembles the original. Also, fashion trends change from one year to the next. So, they go in and out of style very quickly. For the women who care about being up-to-date, they would never wear the same dress another year.
Walt the Fourth: I'm have to again offer you my sympathy. Our minds tend to go in the same directions. I actually thought of finding an old Ruffles potato chips commercial.
Bob: That's a very popular thing to do. And some of those duets are amazing. Check out the pair in this post (from our first feria in Sevilla in 2012): http://mitchellismoving.blogspot.com.es/2012/04/streets-of-our-fair-feria-city.html

DeleteThe variety is never-ending. I had to pull back significantly on the photos I wanted to post.
Gorgeous! Everyone is so beautiful. Great shots, Mitchell.
ReplyDeleteWilma:
DeleteAnd I especially love walking down city streets surrounded by them. Sevilla was an amazing place to experience that.
I see so many opportunities for paintings in your photographs. Quite beautiful.
ReplyDeleteStephen:
DeleteSo do I, but I could never pull off anything like I imagine. If you feel inspired, have at it!
All those who are be-ruffled make me quite be-wildered. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI really quite loved them all!
Jacqueline:
DeleteI had no idea there could be so many ways of ruffling.
Ruffles have ridges. Or not. Very nice shots. I won't let on which is my favorite...

ReplyDeleteGosia:
DeleteThey are always available at our weekly flea markets, since so many women won't wear theirs more than once.
I want ruffles!
ReplyDeleteNubian:
