My New Fall Look

While San Geraldo and I were in Seattle, we shopped (well, Judy and I shopped) at a store called Display & Costume. In addition to costumes and Halloween (seasonal) and party supplies, the store carries novelty items and other things not found in many places.

Last year, Judy bought a vinyl zipper purse adorned with retro art and the words, "Random Crap." She was looking for a new one or something similar. I spied the "beauty" department and opted for a make-over.

HAVING ALREADY SHOPPED FOR A NEW IPOD NANO THAT DAY, SAN GERALDO WAS SHOPPED OUT.

Obviously, San Geraldo was no help and Judy thought I wasn't being quite daring enough. So, here are my three new looks. Let me know which you think suits me best.

I agree. I think I'm really onto something here (but I don't think it's ready for the public yet)!

  2. In the last photo you are the spit of Limahl...Of Kajagoogoo fame
Clarification a pop band that where extremely famous for a couple of years in England in the early 80s

I remember this song but didn't remember the name of the group or singer. When I watched the video I crapped up. I'm of course so much better looking but we both do rock the hair. Limahl, however, continues to rock his OWN hair.

  3. I love #3. Very hip and versatile. Think of the braids with ribbons and beads!!! Gerald would rock #2!
    Did you buy?

#3 is my favorite as well. As for Jerry, he could rock the look of #2 with his OWN hair! Some folks have all the luck!

  4. A big YES to number 3 it was almost a tie between that and number 1

My preference is also #3 (with #1 in second place ... the ribbon is just not me).

  5. The first one is just DARLING!

I was torn between 3 and 1 but preferred 3 because I thought the ribbon in 1 was just too Junior League for my tastes. Next thing you know I'd be opting for read sweater sets and plaid skirts!

  6. Going with #3, but #1 would be OK. No, no, no to #2. But Elaine's suggestion that #2 would do for SG is spot on. What fun!

I'm almost sorry I didn't buy #3 (but then again I'm sure I could find it here in town). If you saw the head of hair Jerry has, he could do look #2 without any help from a wig.

I DID like that one, but I've never been big on those black Junior League ribbons!

I loved that last one. Guess what, I'm a rock star. I got my rock moves... (Pink!)

  9. Yes, I like the first one, too-- can't beat the bow :)
And... Sheryyyyyl :) Love me some Sheryl Crow.

I figured you'd like Sheryl Crow. I think she's amazing. As for your choice of #1 for the bow, that's the only reason I DE-selected it. That bow is just not my style.

  13. Well I love them all but look 2 is a huge winner, for me at least. Number 3 reminds me of an Australian footballer who was once very famous by the name of Warwick Capper. He was known for two things - his haircut, and his super tight football shorts. ;)

Look #2 reminds my of some time in my past, but maybe it was a past life! Oh, Warwick Capper! I just looked him up. After that, I'm not so partial to my Look #3 anymore!

That ribbon is just much too Junior League for me. But I did like all the hair (and that fringe).

  15. I'll be alone (so far) in going for the middle one, even if it does vaguely remind me of John Kerry - not that there's anything wrong with looking like J.K., I hasten to add.

Leave it to you to go in a different direction. Speaking of which, maybe I'll just leave that wig to you!

  16. It's between 1 and 3. The shoulder length hair suits you. Eeerily, you look like a friend of mine in #2. Except for the beard. She's clean-shaven.

I couldn't believe what a good time I had doing that. My favorite was #3 but #1 was second. As for #2, it reminded me of too many people in my past (with and without beards).

  19. I'm liking the last one. Do you think you can get the band back together???

    1. Bob:
I didn't even know which specific band that would be, but Tynan directed me to Limahl of Kajagoogoo. I'll see what I can do (and also will see if Limahl would mind being replaced).

You're so right about the look of Style #2. If I had found anything that looked like Drumpf, I wouldn't even have tried it on.

I kind of like that rockstar look, but I don't think it would hold up to closer inspection ... or to more than a snapshot.
