I'm grateful to have friends who text me at 10:00 at night simply to share something beautiful. That's what Elena did last week. She didn't know I was having a little battle with my depression at that particular moment.
"Have you seen the moon?!?"
Her text just about screamed.
I went out on the terrace and I gave thanks to Elena. Have YOU seen the moon?
I showed one of my classes the photo of Moose out on the terrace, and they were all ooooohing and ahhhhhing at your lovely abode, and the fabulous cuteness of Moose. Give those boys a pet and a hug when you don't have something else beautiful to look at .
ReplyDeleteJudy:
DeleteI love that you show your classes my photos sometimes. Let me know if there's anything that might be of interest to one of your discussions. I might find inspiration. (i.e., I could write about Jerry's French-language skills --- nonexistent -- like when he says Moan Do! Moan Do. Moan Do!)
Oh the moon! 'Pulls' me towards it more and more. Guess we (mostly fluid) are simply like the ocean and susceptible to it's force.
ReplyDeleteI boycotted the inauguration because I didn't want to hear his repetitious bs.
Jim:
DeleteI felt I need to hear it for myself. After, I thought I must have been hallucinating!
you were brave to watch THAT shitshow. I ain't watching or listening. today I made a contribution to planned parenthood and contacted my federal rep/senators begging them to RESIST the orange shitstain.
ReplyDeleteanne marie:
DeleteGood for you. We will all do what we can to keep this from going from bad to worse -- although it's already gone to worse!
Would much rather look at the moon than the dangerous clown walking down Pennsylvania Avenue.
ReplyDeleteStephen:
DeleteI used to love clowns!
Lets enjoy nice things eh? Well said
ReplyDeleteJohn:
DeleteI refuse to keep my head permanently in the sand, but it does make for a nice break.
OH THAT moon!!!!! Gorgeous!!!! I was afraid with you posting pictures what with the tourist there, I half expected some guy walking pass shooting a moon!
ReplyDeletemistress maddie:
DeleteOh, I saw a really awful moon the other night that put me off my dinner. Fortunately, his friends were looking in my direction so I couldn't get a photo and then put you off your dinner.
Beautiful, Mitch. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteBegone, black dog!
Rozzie:
DeleteI feel sorry for all those black dogs. And clowns.
❤
ReplyDelete'Elena' is not a name one comes across very often in these parts, but it's also now the chosen name for my new grand-niece born just last Wed in Vienna to my nephew and his Austrian wife. Yes, I'm now a 'Uronkel'! (I'm already great-uncle - and, in fact, great-great uncle - several times over in English, but it's nice to now have a German-speaking one to add to the 'collection'.)
ReplyDelete'Grand-niece' or 'great-niece'? I dunno!
DeleteRay:
DeleteCongratulations Uronkel on your new great-niece (I think it should be grand but apparently genealogists do not agree). We here are Tio Abuelos (uncle grandpas). I understand many Brits tend to pronounce the name Elena more like (Ellen-uh). What about you?
Seek out beauty and happiness everyday, in every situation.
ReplyDeleteTravel:
DeleteIf a person is lucky enough to have that chance, they shouldn't waste it.
The moon is a beautiful thing that too many people fail to take notice of!
ReplyDeleteKnatolee:
DeletePretty amazing.
Mitch, for us Elena is pronounced like Helena without the aspirant - also just as Eleanor is, as in Roosevelt/Rigby.
ReplyDelete.....or even as the Turtles' 1968 hit, 'Elenore' - (altogether now!) Gee, I think you're swell, and you really do me well - you're my pride and joy etcetera......
Delete(I feel better now).
Ray:
DeleteI've learned that since living here in Fuengirola in close contact with lots of Brits! I really think you're groovy. Let's go out to a movie. I feel better now, too!
