As it turned out, I wasn't going to die of puffer cockroach poisoning or even of cat turd tremens. I did, however, wonder if peanut cactus thorns carry poisons. Especially as I quickly stepped on three more.
WHEN IT WAS WHOLE. |
Suddenly, Moose finds this plant fascinating. He pulls the stems off and carries them around the house. I thought he was simply being destructive (others might call it playful). But it turns out, Moose has taken up gardening.
NOTICE THE BALD SPOT? |
I'M NO CRIME-SCENE EXPERT... BUT THE CAT HAIR IS A DEAD GIVE-AWAY. |
This morning I awoke to a bit of dirt on the dresser and two cactus stems at the base of one of Jerry's little mango trees. Moose is designing a terrarium.
MOOSE'S GARDEN. |
IF HE HAD A THUMB, IT WOULD BE GREEN. |
This evening, Moose was puttering on the terrace.
I could swear I heard him singing:
An amazing cat! Well, he sees you gardening....It's a compliment.
ReplyDeleteKristi:
DeleteYeah... right...
LOL! "I don't know what you are talking about" look on his face!
ReplyDeleteHow's the foot?
Jim:
DeleteMoose always has that kind of vacuous look. "Who me?" Dudo is more the, "Oh, get over it" type. The foot is fine. Retrieving the little stubs with my fingers, however, not so smart.
Oh the gifts cats give us...... and we DO have to show our appreciation!
ReplyDeleteSharon:
DeleteHe was back there this morning before we got out of bed. He got yelled at (by San Geraldo). I don't think he felt appreciated.
I love the "giant puffer cockroach"! Hope I never meet one.
ReplyDeleteJo:
DeleteSo do I... (But I'll bet they make for great sushi.)
Ha!!! Here's the line that caused today's burst-outloud-chuckle: I'M NO CRIME-SCENE EXPERT...
ReplyDeleteBUT THE CAT HAIR IS A DEAD GIVE-AWAY.
Great stuff :)
LOVE THOSE FURRY KIDS!
Judy:
DeleteIt must have been on an episode of CSI. I couldn't have figured that out for myself. Could I?
What a great (almost) innocent look on his face, he's quite convincing! They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery; wonder what he's buttering you up for?
ReplyDeleteLoved the video, I didn't even know she could sing...let alone sing well!
Jacquelineand....
DeleteKristin Chenoweth started out in musical theater. You'd be amazed at all she's done and continues to do. What a voice. She was Glinda in the original cast of "Wicked." Look for her on YouTube. You'll be hooked.
Moose doesn't sing...
Not so much 'cactus' as 'catcus'.
ReplyDeleteRaybeard:
DeleteExactly. These cats make us cus[s].
For some reason, here at Casa Bob y Carlos our little Consuelo Roca-Jones has been digging up plants and leaving bits and pieces around the house for us to find.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's Cat Gardening season?
Bob:
DeleteWell, you know, spring HAS sprung.
Cat are always up to something different. What amazes me is when a long-lost toy suddenly reappears out of the blue.
ReplyDeleteMs. Sparrow:
DeleteI know! Drives me crazy. Right now, I'm missing an earring. Moose???
Mitchell, I have green fingers but definitely your cat not. Your cat is too energetic.
ReplyDeleteGosia:
DeleteThey sleep 20 hours a day... and get in trouble the other 4.
"If he had a thumb, it'd be green".
ReplyDeleteToo funny!!
:D
TICKLEBEAR:
DeleteI try (well, actually, I don't). Thanks!
Tuxedo Cats are the best cats ever!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteSunny:
DeleteI love that you call them Tuxedo Cats. The best I've found here is "Common European'!
Hey buds below - a reference to "On A Clear Day you can see forever?"
ReplyDeleteSpo:
DeleteYou must have missed the Kristin Chenoweth video at the end. She does the song. I loved that show (the movie... not so much)!
