No colorful stories to share today. Just some local color. (Click any image.)

HELADO PITUFO (YES... SMURF ICE CREAM).
WOULD YOU EAT THIS???

NOTHING BEATS MOTHER NATURE.

A COLORFUL FAMILY.
STRIPES ARE "IN."
UM... MAYBE NOT.

HEBE IN BLOOM ON THE TERRACE (BOTTLEBRUSH IN BACKGROUND).

NEW CUSHIONS AT "PLAYA LA SIRENA" (MERMAID BEACH).

WE BUY MY MOTHER THE DOWAGER DUCHESS AN AMARYLLIS EVERY YEAR.
THESE HAVE NATURALIZED IN THE PLANTERS ACROSS THE STREET.
THE DUCHESS WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THIS.

AND I THOUGHT DISCO WAS DEAD.

  1. Just what we needed here on the gray/overcast day......a blast of colour!! Great photos Mitchell. I liked the reflections in the 2nd Amaryllis shot! Looks like 'full steam ahead' for summer in your neck of the woods!!

If you ask me, winter was a breeze this year, unlike our first winter here. (If you ask San Geraldo, that breeze was a cyclone.) But spring has been perfect. Hope you're having your share of sunshine in many ways!

  2. Naturalized amaryllis ~ imagine, just imagine ~~ and the hebe!! I've read about them in New Zealand but look right on your deck! Stunning.
Loving all the bright summer colours and mis-matched whatevers ~ I'd be in that water in a flash if I was there. Come on Jerry (and Mitch) surf's up!!

The hebe is beautiful, but San Geraldo has been having a battle with the bugs. The plant doesn't look all that happy yet; at least it's blooming! I'm not one for a brisk, cold swim. If our pool in Palm Springs was below 30C, I didn't like going in!

  3. I'm jealous of the beach shots, though not so much with the Smurf ice cream. And, well, truth be told, that plaid shorts. striped shirt ensemble looks similar to an outfit I have been known to rock.

Smurf ice cream. Just wrong in so many ways. I was told today that it's bubble-gum flavored. No thanks! Post pictures of your plaid-striped outfit!

  4. No smurf ice cream for me, thank you! But I'd love those amaryllis, and a blue and white striped umbrella! (And a beach in Spain!)

The beach in Spain awaits you. Very easy to get a blue and white striped umbrella. I understand about the Smurf ice cream.

It looks and feels like summer. Except in another month it will be much busier (lots more people), with more street performers, vendors, rides, and attractions. It's like one big party.

  6. Glorious colors. Have you thought of returning to doing your artwork? I imagine there's much where you live to inspire you.

I need a master artist like you to help get me going again. I've got the supplies. I've even been taking photos that I'd like to interpret. But, whenever I pick up a pen or pencil just to loosen up and feel it again, I crumple up what I produce! I think I need to enroll in one of the local classes/studios to get my mojo back!

  7. So, Pitufo is the word for Smurfs en Español? Crazy! It's Schtroumpf en francés :) ¡No me gusta el color del helado por nada!

I've never been big on eating things that are blue! I was told today that it's bubble-gum flavored. That's bad enough, but at least it could be pink. I would think Smurfs would taste like marshmallows. But don't ask me why!

If it ever comes up, Spongbob Squarepants is Bob Esponja.

  8. Is Smurf ice cream made with artificial ingredients or from bona-fide Smurfs?

    1. Spo:
Well, I know it has real Smurfs mixed in. However, since the flavor is bubble gum, it might still be all-natural, but it's not all-natural Smurf.

    2. Then phooey. I want my ice cream made from all-natural Smurf. I won't eat Girl Scout Cookies for the same purist reason.

  10. Not big on blue foods, I must admit. Except blue corn tortillas, of course!

  12. Nobody every looks good in stripes, especially with plaid shorts. Sadly, neon 1980s colors seem to be coming back. Next Pat Benetar headbands and Madonna fingerless gloves oh my

I love stripes but not with plaids, although I think some people can that off (but only if they choose really well). I've got a stripes with stripes sighting to share that really took my breath away.
