The Best Little Cat House In South Dakota

If you think Matt and Lindy are soft touches when it comes to cats in need (yesterday's post), you should meet Lindy's parents! They have a farm outside Pierre and have both farm and house cats. I can't remember how many exactly — perhaps 15 inside the cool and stylish house and that many (or maybe 50, I get those numbers confused) on the farm. And, yes, they all have names.

If we lived closer, we probably would have begged to take a couple home with us!

(Click the images for a closer look. Go on. I know you can't resist.)

WE HAD FARM GUIDES.
THE BOUDOIR. IT IS A CATHOUSE AFTERALL!
INSTANT AFFECTION. HE MADE OUR HEARTS MELT.

THIS ONE STUCK A FLOWER IN HER HAIR TO SEE US OFF.
"ARE YOU OFF, THEN? SO, WHAT DID I MISS?"

  1. I LOVE THESE KITTIES! :)
Wow, though... that's a lot of animals. My sister used to have one of those with the flopped-over ears... there's a name for that breed, but I can't remembr... do you? anyone?

I've heard cats with those ears called Scottish Folds (also Coupari) but I don't know if there are other breeds as well. She was adorable!

It would definitely be way too many for me to live with, but I was in heaven visiting them.

They were so sweet. It was a love fest, especially since we had been missing Dudo and Musy for more than a month at that point.

If I have to go to a cat house, this is the one I choose. They have some of the most loving and outgoing cats I've ever met.

Oh, my fantasy house. Well, fantasy room. I would love to have that built for the cats, but my need for open space and headroom would require me to have a large extra room just for the cats.

These cat people have given wonderful homes and lives to a lot of neglected cats.

You're so right. We had been away from Dudo and Moose for 5 weeks at that point. It didn't make up for not being with them, but it sure made us feel better.

  8. If I knew that when I died Heaven would be like this, I'd want to get there by ANY means - even if it meant becoming a virgin again! Now how many people could say THAT? ;-)

I thought of you a lot that day and even figured you would call it heaven. However, it didn't cross my mind that you might not mind becoming a virgin again. But would that be so you could lose it all over again?

    2. If it was a choice between having the cats for eternal company, Mitch, or keeping myself chaste for all time.......well, let me think about it. :-)

    3. Ray:
I've decided it would only mean re-becoming a virgin and losing it all over again! AND having the cats for eternal company.

    4. That really would be a double-bonus, or even an infinitely repeated one!

Btw: Can it be true? We can post replies under your comments now? And replies to replies......AD INFNITUM? This is just TOO good!

Well... some people could always post replies under the comments, some could sometimes, some couldn't. That's Google Blogspot! Who knows what lies ahead? Enjoy it when you can.

Oh so much more "normal"! I thought of you while often while we were in Pierre. And we even talked about you regularly!
