Where Are The Bloomin' Orchids?

As I mentioned yesterday, there weren't lots of orchids in bloom at Orchidarium Estepona. We were there November 9 and it turns out the Orchid Fair (exhibition and sale!!!) was November 4, 5, and 6. The few flowers we did see were quite beautiful.

The large section containing the plants that will do best in our terrace environment had not a single flower to show. But check out what we did see (and click the bloomin' image to make it bigger).

So, our orchid experiment will soon begin. But it can't begin yet because we haven't "botany."

Get it? Get it? We haven't botany! You know, like bought any?

I know most of you got this really, really bad pun. The painful explanation, which only made it worse, was for the benefit of San Geraldo.

They amaze me. There were some in bloom behind glass because they were so tiny and so delicate.

I've been told that a really good pun will elicit a groan. I groaned.

  4. Orchids are beautiful, but I've never had any luck with them.

    I haven't botany in a long time!

I'm pretty certain I've never been a horticulture. (That would mean someone has paid me for it, correct?)

I know. Many stand-up comedians have flopped when trying it.

  10. Bad puns are the best puns. Always. A friend of ours in San Francisco briefly dated a guy who owned a garden shop. His name was Dale. The place was, of course, called "Blooming Dale's." No joke.

THAT is really clever. I'm ashamed to say my sister "Dale" just about lived at Bloomingdale's (shopping) and I never ever made any kind of punny connection.
