House On The Sand

You may not realize this, but you can count on me for bible quotes. This one, Matthew 7:24-27.

"... And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rains fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew..."

Don't ask me what 7:24-27 means (and, please, don't tell me either) but I came across someone the other day who didn't heed Matthew's advice.

As for me, I think a house on the sand is charming — no matter how long it lasts.

CLOSE TO SHOPPING AND DINING.

This is mostly Spanish (Giant) Reed that washed down from the hillsides. It washed out to sea and continues to wash back onto shore. I have to admit, part of that "quote" was lodged in my brain, but I had no recollection that it came from the bible!

The Big Bad City Tractor did! It's been added to the mountain across the street and is now waiting for pick-up. So sad.

Two cute kids and their parents built it. A great family project.

  8. A nice shelter as long as the tide is not like on the beaches of Normandy and washes everything away each day.

It was far enough up to survive anything but a super high tide. Unfortunately, it didn't survive the Municipal tractor.

I loved the elegant vestibule. But, sorry, it's already been snapped up ... and hauled away.

  11. Aw, what a cute homeowner, and he gets the three-tiered principle of real estate (location x3). Thanks for making me laugh, Mitchell.
