Lady Liberty's Spanish Holiday

We bumped into Lady Liberty last week while shopping in Mijas Pueblo. She said she was here for a short break. Although it's always a pleasure to see her, I'm hoping the "short break" is not one of those alternative facts we've lately heard so much about.

ON THE PLAZA VIRGEN DE LA PEÑA.
VIEWED FROM THE GLASS ELEVATOR
AS WE HEAD BACK DOWN TO THE PLAZA.

  1. Oh, it looks so lovely there! My parents spent a couple months in the winter in Portugal every year. They would send home postcards with palm trees on them, making us wish we were there.
Wonderful video! I always marvel that the ladies could dance like that in high heels. I can barely walk in them!
    Have a good day.

I always wanted to dance like that (with or without the high heels)!

  2. Sorry I haven't been checking in lately because I've been obsessively monitoring the demise of democracy in America as we once knew it. I haven't even blogged because the daily atrocities are so numerous and preposterous that I couldn't possibly blog about all of them. It has been overwhelming.

I completely understand. As you can probably tell, I can't stop obsessing about this international tragedy either. I try to momentarily distract with my blog but it's not easy.

Too bad about your connectivity problems. But glad the rest of life there looks so appealing.

  5. Beautiful pictures. Lady Liberty will probably be there for at least only, I hope, for four years.....or less.

Oh, heaven help us all if Liberty is gone from the USA for 4 years!

  6. I love to look at the shadows of palm trees. Somehow they are soothing in their intricacy and near symmetry. I need all the soothing I can get now that Lady Liberty has fled the US.

I agree about the palm trees. Sometimes I take pictures of just the shadows. I also agree about Lady Liberty. I sure hope she finds a home again soon in the USA.

  7. I just hope that your Lady Liberty is only taking a vacation and has not emigrated because of The Elephant splashing in the Custard ?

  8. The Spanish seem to be doing a better job of encouraging liberty than we are back home.

Let's hope Spain continues its "free" run and that the USA comes to its senses very soon.

  9. I hope they let her back in when she goes home. Should she decide not to request asylum in Europe.

I just hope she doesn't register as a Muslim in solidarity. She'll never get back in!
