One Coín And The Fountain

We took a little drive into the mountains Monday with Judyshannonstreetwhat (click here if you still haven't met) simply to enjoy the scenery and stop for lunch in the town of Coín (Co-EEN) less than an hour northwest. We arrived just in time for siesta, so we immediately stopped for lunch before strolling the deserted streets of a very small part of this non-touristy town.

Highlight
A 12-year-old with a skateboard whistled at us as we pulled out of the parking garage beneath Plaza Mercado. He followed the whistle with, "Guay coche [cool car]."

Some sights today. Tomorrow, lunch! (Click to embiggerize the photos.)

For two days now, Jerry has been telling everyone he was whistled at. Such excitement.

  3. Wouldn't it be wonderful to restore one of those old houses in one of these quaint little towns?

We passed old ruins on the road driving there and back and Judy fantasized about restoring one.

They were simple box Christmas decorations. Maybe when lit they looked like gift boxes. I like how you see them, but we don't have lobsters and Coín is quite far from the sea anyway!

She was incredible and this is actually really the only rendition of this song that I like.

  6. Don't think I've heard the song sung by anyone other than Ol' Blue Eyes until now, it's been so associated with him. This one makes a change but, with apologies to Dinah, think I'll stick with Frankie's version.

I'm not a fan of this song (nor, really, of Frank Sinatra). This is the only version I really like.

We need to explore more of Coín. But lunch alone was worth the drive (oh, and being whistled at).
