TLC (Tender Loving Cats)

Have you wondered what the cats have been doing while I moped through a few days sick in bed? Nothing any different from what they usually do. Enjoying the sun on the terrace (both). Dragging toys wherever I dragged myself (Dudo) and then expecting me to play fetch. Meowing incessantly until someone/anyone provided undivided attention (Moose). Begging to be cuddled but only cooperating if I got down on the floor (Moose). Demanding company while he ate (Moose). Both completely unaware that things needed to be a little different for a few days. Both completely happy that it's all back to near-normal. I heard Dudo mutter to Moose yesterday, "It's so hard to find good staff these days!"

(Click and see them grow in importance.)

MOOSE: "NO. I'M NOT IN THE MOOD TO BE CUDDLED NOW!"
DUDO: "I'M DOWN HERE. DON'T YOU WANT TO SIT ON THE FLOOR WITH ME?"
DUDO: "SO, WHAT, ARE YOU JUST GOING TO WALK BY
WITHOUT PLAYING WITH SANTA MOUSE?!? I'VE BEEN WAITING!"

"The love I bring you..."

Sometimes wise and sometimes kind of dense. But wonderful just the same.

The cats are clearly in charge. We are BOTH still dragging but we have a few hours each day that we actually have some energy (and aren't coughing up our innards).

I have to admit, even at their most annoying, they sure are cute.

  4. It sounds like you're getting your money's worth out of these cats in entertainment alone.

Nah, it's just their way of being the center of the universe. But it DOES make me feel good.

  7. Dudo has the most beautiful green eyes!

Our dogs always like it when we're sick, because it means we don't go to work. They love nothing more than having us all at home together, as a pack should be. :)

I hope you're feeling better soon!

These are our first cats to be used to having us home all the time. Our other cats only saw us before and after work. So these two are even more spoiled and demanding. And we DO love it. Dudo and Moose have very similar eyes but Dudo's do amazing things with changes in light. That was full sunlight. At times they can be almost neon green. He also is a very slim cat and his are much more prominent in his face. AND he's very expressive.

  8. You need a giant carpeted perch of your very own placed to catch the sun. The cats have the right idea. Hope you are back "in service" soon.

Oh, I agree with about my own perch. We've now got so many plants and that great cat space but we forgot about a space for the chaise lounges! They're leaning against some planters until we figure things out! Still mostly out of service. This is getting boring!

Dudo's eyes have always been unusual. At first they seem identical to Moose's. But in different light they really change. They're also much more round and wide open than Moose's.

Still feeling crappy but not as bad as the weekend. Hoping this weekend to be able to say good-bye to most of this "blech."

  11. I can just hear our lads saying the same things. That's if you can call our geriatrics "lads".

So pleased to hear you are improving, Mitch. Must be from the pussies' care. And possibly from a little of Jerry's care, too.

PS, the more cat pics the better.

I'll try to provide more cat pics (I sure take enough). Thanks. Poor Jerry has been feeling pretty crappy now, too. We're both slowly getting better, but way too slowly for our tastes!

  12. Was I wondering about them? Funny you should say that......
As ever, they just can't understand why the entire world doesn't fall in with THEIR wishes. Typical!

During my own bed-confined days prior to Xmas day my 3-some just wouldn't give me any peace when it was feedy time. It was their own priority that had to come first. In addition, had to get up to clean out their litter trays. Not at all a pleasant time, but what was that to them?
Pleased that you sound like your past that stage too. No fun, is it?

Jerry started to feel pretty awful, too. We're both recovering but run out of steam very quickly. "Oh, I feel great this morning!" "Uf, I feel like crap!" Nothing and no-one stops for the cats! Or maybe it's "Everything and everyone stops for the cats!"

  13. When i'm sick Tuxedo gets in bed with me and sleeps on top of me. MaxGoldberg does the Death Stare.
Consuelo, on the other, wants something to eat.

The Death Stare. Dudo has that one down. Moose will stare, but the minute you make eye-contact he starts talking and talking and talking and talking.
