Local Color / Color Local

Amid the usual clouds and rainfall in Bergen, Norway, we did enjoy some sunshine. Two entire days, as a matter of fact. (Of course, it rained at night.) One day was especially spectacular, reaching 20C (68F). Cousin Andreas and his wife Anette said that was as good as it gets. We were grateful. Given the often-present gray skies, the people of Bergen ("Bergenseres") know how to fill their lives with color and light.

TRUE LOCAL COLOR, ON HER YELLOW DAY AND HER PINK DAY.
VERDADERO COLOR LOCAL, EN SU DÍA AMARILLO Y SU DÍA ROSA.

  1. Hi Mitchell, wonderful photos! The photo of the hillside with all the green is lovely. Glad you had at least the two days of sunshine.
    Take care.

Color Lady apparently has a different theme for each day of the week. I wish I had seen them all.

I could live in Bergen if it weren't for the weather. Stunningly beautiful and a great city.

  5. Beautiful!!!!! The flowers really are a bright spot as is there clothing. My jay is off to people who can live in atmosphere like this, where it rains alot and is dark and cloudy alot. I get very tired and depressed if we have that kind of weather here which we just did. Its been very unseasonable so far. But the beach trip helped. And we know have some sun. I'm just waiting for the hot and humid days. There's a reason I don't live in Seattle or Portland......

We THOUGHT we could live in Bergen until we learned it gets 87 inches of precipitation a year. Seattle gets 37!

You are so right about Bergen's beauty. I didn't notice the Lady of Colours that first time until I started to snap a photo of the flowers. What a gift!

Cherry trees were in full bloom when we arrived and bulbs were just reaching their peak. By the time we left, trees had leafed out.
