Phantom Of The Rainbow / La Fantasma Del Arcoiris

I GOT CAUGHT in the rain during my walk on the beach today. I could see the dark clouds over the mountains start to circle toward the coast, but I couldn't convince myself to rush. I was too content. Later in the day, a rainbow.

I phoned the Kid Brother for his birthday. Per his Sunday instructions, I phoned "earlier." Our Sunday FaceTime call is at 11 in the morning his time. I called at 9:40 so San Geraldo and I could both sing to him. His roommate said, "He stepped out." So, I phoned again at 10. No answer. 10:20. No answer. 10:45. No answer. 11:15. "You're kinda late," he said. But I sang to him anyway. Like I said yesterday, "Oh, brother!"

AND THEN A DOUBLE RAINBOW
Y LUEGO UN DOBLE ARCOIRIS.
NOTICE THE PHANTOM BIRD? A CRAG MARTIN
¿NOTA EL PÁJARO FANTASMA? UN ROQUERO.
DUDO NOTICED. MOOSE WAS CLUELESS (AS IS HIS HABIT).
DUDO LO NOTÓ. MOOSE NO TENÍA NI IDEA (COMO ES SU COSTUMBRE).

It was a very dramatic day and that sky put some fear into me as walked home along the beach. It didn't amount to much rain though, here at least.

It did cross my mind in the past that his roommate Chris was covering for him. But Chris couldn't lie if his life depended on it. Chuck simply disappears for a while when he's having issues with phone calls (sometimes the anticipation overwhelms him; sometimes he doesn't want to talk). I didn't get drenched yesterday. I would have enjoyed it -- except for the ipod and camera!

Nope! Although it's been unbelievably cold (for here). Right now it's 50 (which is cold for us), but it's been as low as 37 some recent mornings! Almost unheard of.

  8. I love how the dark grey clouds make the water look so lustrously green and turquoise. We see the same thing here. Happy Birthday to Chuck.
