One of San Geraldo's often-used expressions was "Stop and smell the coffee."
"Jerry, It's 'wake up and smell the coffee'; it's 'stop and smell the roses,'" I would repeatedly explain.
San Geraldo still hasn't learned.
Moose and Dudo don't want to wake up — or stop — and smell anything.
Moose y Dudo no quieren despertar — o parar — y oler nada.

The sweetest things ... right before your eyes.
Las cosas más dulces ... justo delante de tus ojos.
And do you blame them!!? I want to be one of those cats!!
ReplyDeleteI would smell the roses but the snow is preventing me at this time.
Jim:
DeleteI can't believe you've still got snow. Everyone around here (not us) is sunburned (burnt?)! Some days, I wouldn't mind being one of our cats. (This is one of those days!)
No roses in bloom here just yet. Ah but the coffee that has a delicious aroma and unlike some folk too much and it makes me sleepy. So I guess your cats are over dosing on the aromas too ?
ReplyDeleteHeron:
DeleteI love the smell of coffee... and roses. Our cats are overdosing on love.
SG is just doing a "mashup" of sayings. I think I'll start using "Wake up and smell the roses." Your boys are gorgeous, but lazy. Doing what cats do best.
ReplyDeleteWilma:
DeleteA "mashup of sayings" describes most of Jerry's conversation. He has been known to say, "It's important to have all your ducks covered."
Hi Mitchell, I love the photos of your kitties, so cute.
ReplyDeleteChuck has a habit of mish mashing expressions too. Sometimes it takes me a few seconds to figure out what he means!
Take care.
Robin
Cat Lover:
DeleteI usually have Jerry figured out quickly, but there are times when I have to scratch my head. Of course, even when I immediately understand, I give him a hard time. Our cats are adorable. Just ask them.
in my next life, I am coming back as a pampered pussy like moose and dudo.
ReplyDeleteno roses here either; we just got the hyacinths to bloom.
anne marie:
DeleteWe've got so much in bloom here, but we have things blooming throughout the winter, too. The orange blossoms are still filling the air with sweetness, too.
If reincarnation exists I want to come back as one of your cats.
ReplyDeleteStephen:
DeleteIf I have to come back, that wouldn't be bad.
Your sheets are SOOOOOOOOO clean........not like ours!
ReplyDeleteJohn:
DeleteHa! Everything's relative, I guess. Lots of animals and an allotment do a lot more damage than two cats and a protected terrace. Just don't look too close or you'll see all the cat hair!
They're both so relaxed they're making me sleeeeeeep ....... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
ReplyDeleteBob:
DeleteDudo's pacing right now. He wants a treat and it's not going to happen ... yet!
Mac Davis???? Oh, lordy. Baby, baby don't get hooked on him.
ReplyDeleteWalt the Fourth:
DeleteI know. I know. However, we saw him on Broadway starring in Will Rogers Follies and he was surprisingly good. But I can see in your tremblin' smile, you're seeing way too much in me.
I hadn't heard that song in decades, thanks for the flashback to my teens.
ReplyDeleteTravel:
DeleteI hope it was a good flashback!
