THE KID BROTHER and I went to Coney Island with friend Judy and her sister Joan to have Nathan's hot dogs and play skeeball. The Kid Brother is now hooked on "popping the clowns" as you can see in the series below. Not only is he hooked, but he's amazing. Better than anyone the staff at the arcade has ever seen.
Before the clowns, while we enjoyed our hot dogs, we noticed a group of New York City police taking a lunch break nearby. I told The Kid Brother he should hide because they were looking for him. He said, "I didn't do nothing!"
After lunch, Judy went and spoke with the cops. I knew exactly what she was doing. The Kid Brother asked, "What's she doing?" I told him, "Oh, Judy talks to everybody."
A moment later, two of New York's Finest came over, "Chuck! We've been looking all over for you!"
Chuck blushed and matter-of-factly replied, "I been here for a while."
The officer continued, "We've been searching everywhere! Your picture is up in the precinct. NY Yankees cap, beige jacket. I can't believe we finally caught up with you!"
P.S.: I just FaceTimed with The Kid Brother. We talked about meeting the police in Coney Island. He told me, "Someone double-crossed me!" I asked if he meant Judy and he said, "Yeah! I was framed!"
Él dijo: "¡Yo no hice nada!"
Me dijo, "Alguien me traicionó." Le pregunté si se refería a Judy y él dijo: "Sí. ¡Me ha culpado [de un delito que no cometí]! No hice nada!"

DeleteI can't even remember what he got this time. But he was happy and that's all that matters.
Hi Mitchell, what a great story! Love the photo of Chuck and the officers.
ReplyDeleteHave a good day!

Robin:
DeleteHe was so matter-of-fact when the police came over. It wasn't until later that he laughed and talked about it. The FaceTime comment cracked me up.
another great story, mitch! and a fun day at coney island too.
ReplyDeleteanne marie:
DeleteWe did have a great day.
I love the trick on The Kid brother. How fun was that!
ReplyDelete"I was framed!!"
Bob:
DeleteHe cracks me up (so does Judy).
No wonder Chuck has the highest score!! Look at that stance and right arm throw! A PRO for sure.
ReplyDeleteI think is on to you and Judy, Mitch!! lol
Jim:
DeleteHis scores were consistently over 200. In 20 seconds! His nearest competitor scored a 60!
He must be good to get so many tickets, skee-ball and other similar games rarely spit much out
ReplyDeleteAdam:
DeleteHe really is exceptional. At skeeball, too. He tends to draw an audience.
A memorable day at Coney Island alright!
ReplyDeleteDebra:
DeleteThis day was especially fun. Judy loves "double-crossing."
Love the Coney Island posts!
ReplyDeleteJudy
And, by "Judy", I mean, the OTHER Judy ;)
DeleteJudy:
DeleteNever any doubt which Judy you are!
I have never had arcade machine to pay out anything to me... Kid Brother must have luck running through his veins!
ReplyDeleteHeron:
DeleteThese arcades spit out tickets easily, but never as many as I've seen my brother get in one day.
I love Skee Ball and play it for hours when I'm at Funland in Rehoboth. That was a fun post, the Kid Brother is quite something.
ReplyDeletemistress maddie:
DeleteI started playing skeeball with him when he was about 4. He gets into the zone and there's no talking to him.
I wonder if you could convince him that he needs a new hat now that his face (and hat) have been in wanted pictures?
ReplyDeleteWilma:
DeleteOh, Wilma. I BOUGHT him a new, official Yankee's cap. He hasn't yet worn it... not even to go to brunch with our cousins. The one you see is his "lucky hat." (Lucky it hasn't rotted away right on top of his head, if you ask me.)
The cops were great to go along with this harmless prank.
ReplyDeleteStephen:
DeleteReally nice guys. When Judy approached them, one said, "No, you cannot try on the hand cuffs!"
He looks guilty with those cops.
ReplyDeleteLaurent:
DeleteHe wasn't comfortable posing for the picture, but now all he wants to do is see the picture!
Am I allowed to say that your brother has a good lookin' behind?
ReplyDeleteRozzie:
DeleteYou're allowed to say it, but I won't repeat it. He'd die of embarrassment.
