Dragonberries / Bayas De Dragón

La versión español está después de la versión inglés.

WE ATE WELL while we were in New York. And in very good company. Our first dinner was at Rocco's Tacos in Downtown Brooklyn with dear friends Anne and Brian. Great place. Great food. But my favorite was my Dragonberry Mojito.

The mojito was delicious the first night, disappointing the next. It all depends on the bartender. Dragonberry rum, though, is delicious.

When I had the drink, I thought "dragonberry" was a made-up name. Then I researched it. I've seen these fruits, too (they're gigantic). Now I know what they are!

A great place. They're apparently all over Florida, too. I had grilled mahi mahi with a kale salad that was so good I had it a second time!

It was delicious. There are so many good flavored rums. I've only learned about them in the last several years (caramel rum...).

Jerry brought home a jar of guacamole from the supermarket the other day. Except for the lack of fresh chunks, it tastes just as good.

  11. There's one thing I miss out here in rural France: a good Mexican restaurant. I'd even settle for a bad Mexican restaurant. Ok, maybe not. When we want Mex or Tex-Mex, we have to make it ourselves. Thank goodness for Rick Bayless' cookbooks! Still, with the ingredients we can find, we're pretty limited (although we can now get flour and corn tortillas in the supermarket). The food in your photos looks so tasty, all of it!

We don't have good Mexican restaurants here either. Sevilla had a chain of three owned by a Mexican-American from California. They were excellent. As close as one could get to the real thing.
