A BRIEF DISTRACTION during my walk today after an off-shore storm that brought a tidal surge.
UNA BREVE DISTRACCIÓN durante mi caminata de hoy, después de una tormenta en el mar que provocó una marejada pequeña. La expresión americana "a stick in the mud" (literalmente "un palo en el barro") significa "una persona chapada a la antigua."
THAT DOESN'T LOOK GOOD. ESO NO SE VE BIEN.
THEY TRIED TO TOW IT WITHOUT SUCCESS. INTENTARON REMOLCARLO SIN ÉXITO.
mistress maddie: And, speaking of fire, on the same day I walked by one of our local restaurant hangouts, which had been the victim of arson the other morning!
Very familiar with those tidal surges! They can really change an area completely and create canals that wren't there the day before. LOVE your photo account of this event, Mitchell! Nice work! Still think you could use your photog talents as a 'reporter' which I guess is what you're doing,eh?

DeleteI had to look again. I thought your comment had landed on the wrong post!
Funny pictures, especially the 4 you grouped together - as if looking at it would make it better!
ReplyDeleteWilma:
DeleteI thought that group was hilarious sneaking up on the vehicle.
What happens when the tractor get stuck in the sand?
ReplyDeleteAdam:
DeleteThey send in a bigger tractor.
Lefe plays out in interesting ways right in front of you.
ReplyDeleteStephen:
DeleteJust imagine what we're missing.
They sure have humongous sand and water traps on Spanish golf courses! Those are golf carts, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteWalt the Fourth:
DeleteAnd I always thought golf was boring.
And that is how the city employees spent half of their day today. I have stuck an off road ATV in the mud, it can be a challenge.
ReplyDeleteTravel:
DeleteYour tax dollars at work. But, really, they spent less than an hour. Then they spent the rest of the day laughing about it.

Jim:
DeleteDuring summer, that's a narrow, dry channel. One rainstorm and it's back to being a river.
oh the pain
