"DUDO, COME INSIDE," I heard San Geraldo say.
I knew the only reason for Dudo to come in from the terrace was because he was getting into some kind of trouble. I noticed bird poop on the living room door as I headed out, camera in my pocket. San Geraldo said a bird was somewhere on the terrace. Some windows were partially open, but maybe it wasn't obvious to the bird.
"I think it's now sitting on top of the air-conditioning unit by my office," explained San Geraldo.
I zoomed in with my camera and confirmed the bird's — a Eurasian Crag Martin — location.
San Geraldo opened a few windows and we decided to give the bird time to calm down. A few minutes later, I went back out and it was happily flitting around the terrace, even sitting atop the edge of one of the open windows.
I said, "You need to go."
And he went.
I hope Dudo will forgive us some day.
"DUDO, VENGAS ADENTRO," oí decir a San Geraldo.
If he ever comes back you could call him "appetizer", or "lucky" because your cats had other plans for him
ReplyDeleteCheapchick:
DeletePlease let him not come back.
poor dudo...a meal so close and yet so far...
ReplyDeleteanne marie:
DeleteWhen I came back inside, he was STILL at the window scanning the corner.
Wow, what a cool photo that last one is... 2 kitties AND an amazing reflection!

Judy:
DeleteI was really pleased with that one. Note that Moose had already lost interest.
That was a close call! Dudo's keen attention paid off, fortunately only in excitement.
ReplyDeleteWilma:
DeleteMoose was very excited, too... until he wasn't.
Dudo won't rest till he gets at least one.........
ReplyDeletemistress maddie:
DeleteDudo has already had one -- a finch. Please let that be the last.
Nice shot of the bird poop!
ReplyDeleteDebra:
DeleteThat required lens and filter changes and careful staging. I'm a perfectionist.
Dudo will forgive you, but will never forget.
ReplyDeleteStephen:
DeleteThey are both right now staring at the drain hole again.
Love the look on Dudo's face!
ReplyDeleteCat Lover:
DeleteI can't believe I caught it. He is so expressive.
Just look at the concentrated attention in that face. Nothing but NOTHING will distract him.
ReplyDeleteRaybeard:
DeleteAnd that's the truth.
Dudo, my sexy tom, you have GOT to find NEW humans to serve you. Those useless ones you have now do nothing but CRAMP YOUR STYLE.
ReplyDeleteHer Royal Highness:
DeleteYou again, huh?!? Does it matter to you that Dudie is a nutless sexy tom? And his humans serve him very well -- just no live birds.
I hope you gave Dudo an extra serving of cat foods as consolation.
ReplyDeleteKirk:
DeleteTo distract them both, I gave them their treats early. Dudo inhaled so he could get back to the window.
Always the next time....eh Dudo?!
ReplyDeleteJim:
DeleteOh, I hope not.
you probably ruined his lunch by letting it go free
ReplyDeleteAdam:
DeleteI gave them early treats to compensate. He ate his and heading right back to bird watching.
ouch
ReplyDeleteSpo:
DeleteNo one was hurt. Dudo was simply disappointed.
