SAN GERALDO OFFERED to cook a pot of chili Sunday that we would take to Pedro and Kathleen's for dinner, after which we would play some cards. It makes for a relaxing evening. Two-year old Luke doesn't have to be on "restaurant behavior" and he can go to sleep at a normal time.
But that evening, Kathleen texted to warn us that Luke had a fever. San Geraldo didn't want to catch anything and I'm feeling like my resistance might be a bit week after the few months I've had, so we decided to reschedule.
Pedro had made tiramisú for dessert, and they said they felt just awful about not being able to share it with us. You can tell in the photos just how awful they felt.
The jerks.
BUT WE HAD THE CHILI, WHICH TASTES EXACTLY LIKE TIRAMISÚ. IF YOU CLOSE YOUR EYES. PERO TENÍAMOS EL CHILI CON CARNE, QUE SABE EXACTAMENTE COMO EL TIRAMISÚ. SI CIERRAS LOS OJOS. |
My resistance to tiramisú is very low. Take care, stay well.
ReplyDeleteTravel:
DeletePedro's tiramisú is exceptional. Really sorry to have missed out.
Mmmm...tiramisu...that sounds wonderful. That was a jerk move (to send pictures!)
ReplyDeleteJennifer:
DeleteThey're a couple of smart asses. But they deserved to enjoy the tiramisú. Luke kept them busy all night and all the next day.
Both look delicious!
ReplyDeleteDebra:
DeleteThe chili was excellent... but...
I still will never understand why one of the hottest dishes to be ever served (along with the peppers) has chill in the name.
ReplyDeleteAdam:
DeleteHa! It's for the chili peppers (or chili powder) in the recipe. Chili con Carne, Chili Peppers with Meat.
I can tell that Pedro is broken-hearted to be faced with all that tiramisu on his own. So sad. Hope everybody gets healthy soon.
ReplyDeleteWilma:
DeletePoor Pedro and Kathleen. But Luke really put them through the ringer all night and the next day. They deserved the tiramisú.
Of course it does taste the same ~ NOT!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh what a wonderful night of chili & tiramisu, albeit eaten in separate residences.
Next time for sure!
Ron:
DeleteNext time, definitely.
I don't know who got the better deal here!! Both look delicious!
ReplyDeleteSmart move though....better to be safe than sorry.
Jim:
DeleteLuke was miserable all night, so they wouldn't have been able to relax anyway. So, I suppose we got the better deal. Delicious chili without an ailing 2-year-old.
good idea to stay away; kids + germs + adults = sick adults.
ReplyDeleteanne marie:
DeleteSo right. Glad we stayed home.
For some reason I am having a heck of a time getting comments published!
ReplyDeleteToo bad you missed out on your dinner with your friends but better to play it safe.
The chili looks delicious!

Robin:
DeleteSo hard to figure out blogspot and internet issues sometimes. Yes, we really missed out on good company, but they were tied up with Luke for the next 24 hours.
Ha! I love their expressions! Particularly Pedro's. That tiramisu looks awesome, but not worth getting sick over. Unless that sickness is just a result of eating too much tiramisu.
ReplyDeleteA Beer For The Shower:
DeletePedro does look sincerely distraught that he has to eat it all, doesn't he?
My oh my....does the chili look delish. I have been hungry for that lately to, what with the cooler temps setting in.
ReplyDeletemistress maddie:
DeleteJerry makes a delicious version of the chili. He bought a new (to him) chili powder last month. It burned our mouths the first time he made chili with it. This time, he used only one teaspoon and it was STILL on the hot side. But so good.
Hard to decide which would taste better.
ReplyDeleteStephen:
DeleteYou shouldn't have to choose.
I have friends just like those lol bastards.
ReplyDeleteCheapchick:
DeleteWe've to put up with them. No one else will!
