WE HAD A great rainstorm last night. Thunder. Lightning. Winds. We are so grateful for the glass curtain on our terrace.
I'm still not feeling back to myself, so now I'm blaming the weather. I'm supposed to have some tests done. I was supposed to start last week; I figure by the time I get around to it, I'll be completely better. I have at least been improving a little every day.
I'm reminded of My Mother The Dowager Duchess. The last time I spoke with her, just two days before she died, she told me, "I'm just not myself anymore."
She had been saying it for months.
I responded kindly, "Well, maybe this is your 89-year-old self."
She snapped, "Well, I don't like her!"
TUVIMOS UNA GRAN tormenta anoche. Truenos. Relámpagos. Vientos.
Ella espetó, "¡Bueno, no me gusta ella!"
8:00 THIS MORNING / A LAS 8:00 ESTA MAÑANA. |
'They' say that a good storm will clear the air. It is my hope that this will be the same for you, Mitchell.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that last photo!!.....clear, geometric and quiet.
Jim:
DeleteThe air is clear today. I'm slowly but surely improving. Did my entire walk yesterday without the need to sit down!
Looks like quite a storm -- but so peaceful and serene afterwards! Feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteDebra:
DeleteIt was a beautiful day... even with sometimes gusting winds.
I find most often after a storm, the next day turns out to be the most beautiful of days.
ReplyDeletemistress maddie:
DeleteI agree. The dust is washed away and the air is fresh and clean.
ay carumba; such a storm! hope you feel better soon, dear.
ReplyDeleteanne marie:
DeleteI'm fine, really. Not at my usual energy level and still coughing, but I'm out and about and enjoying myself. Thanks!
Great shots of the storm through the glass curtains and the final shot is so fresh and serene. Hope you feel like your young self soon.
ReplyDeleteWilma:
DeleteEven my middle-aged self would be a nice treat!
That was quite a storm Mitchell. The sunrise this morning was lovely.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry you are not quite feeling yourself yet. Know that we all think of you each day.
Take care.
Robin:
DeleteAfter that sunrise photo, it rained again. But then the day was fresh and beautiful. Me? I'm fresh and beautiful, too.
A beautiful morning after the storm. I bet Dudo and Moose are happy the storm is over. I hope you feel better, being sick sucks!
ReplyDeleteCheapchick:
DeleteMoose watched the storm right along with us (although behind us). At the first closely timed thunder and lightning, Dudo headed for the closet and didn't come out until it was over.
I like a storm, because I like what happens after! Feel better!
ReplyDeleteBob:
DeleteSo do I. Fresh, clear air. All the dust and dirt washed away. (And spots all over the windows!) I'm improving. Thanks.
You've shown so many pictures of sunny Spain in the past, I just assumed it never rained there.
ReplyDeleteKirk:
DeleteHardly ever. It's always welcome.
Hi Mitchell & Gerry,
ReplyDeleteClive & I watched the lightening on the webcam last night, hope it is better on Monday when we arrive, hope you feel better soon
Best wishes
Chris
Chris:
DeleteHope to see you this week!!! Welcome today to blue skies and sunshine.
I never had the pleasure of meeting your mother, but based on what I've read I can easily imagine her saying that.
ReplyDeleteStephen:
DeleteShe could be a charmer, she could be impossible, and she could be very funny. This was one of her funny (and sad) moments.
Our latest weather has been rather dry here
ReplyDeleteAdam:
DeleteWe're back to sunny and dry. I look forward to the next rain storm.
Oh, Mitchell, you bring joy to us, and it’s all we wish for you. These photos are amazing.

Judy:
DeleteI'm being melodramatic. I've felt like crap often these past two months, but that happens. I think I was hit with a virus in August and we immediately headed to New York. No rest for the weary. Still getting over it. But I walked 4.5 miles yesterday without the need to sit on a bench mid-way! Besides, I still look like I'm 25 (if I close my eyes).
Lovely pictures, Mitchell. I like nr. 4: almost an abstract painting. Get better soon :-)!
ReplyDeleteJan:
DeleteThanks so much. I really liked these photos, too. My mother once did an impressionist painting of a street scene in the rain. Number 4 reminded me of that painting. I'll have to see if I have a photo of it.
Nice shots! So the windows have really helped protect you from the cyclonic winds. Good!
ReplyDeleteWalt the Fourth:
DeleteEvery time there's a storm we say how grateful we are to have installed the glass curtain. It has changed life here and has extended our apartment year-round by 30 square meters.
Beautiful morning - do take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteTravel:
DeleteI'm taking good care of myself and continue to feel better. Thanks.
Lucky sod to have such splendid bright days AND sensational thunderstorms ! I miss them so
ReplyDeleteSpo:
DeleteWe don't get these storms often, but it's that time of year. I love them.
