SAN GERALDO'S GREAT-GRANDFATHER (from Bergen, Norway) was a Master Baker. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. It was our pal Luke's 2nd birthday and San Geraldo baked the cake. Classic Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Buttercream frosting. Four layers. Between each layer, cream cheese and apricot jam.
EL BISABUELO DE San Geraldo (de Bergen, Noruega) era un Maestro Panadero. La frase hecha en inglés es, "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree."

DeleteDudo took a 5-minute break and is back at it again! The cake was so good it gives me the shivers just thinking about it.
That may be the most quite we have seen Luke. I only assume he liked it?

DeleteYear 1 was Luke's first chocolate cake. He pushed it away. This year was different. He found heaven.
The pictures don't do it justice!!! Best cake I've ever eaten!!

DeleteI agree!
Carlos, too, is a Master Baker. Why, if he had his way, he'd be MasterBaking morning noon and night!

You've reminded me of how much I love dried apricots. Happy Thanksgiving to you and San Geraldo.
ReplyDeleteStephen:
DeleteWishing you, Mrs. C and Junior Chatterbox the same! There's leftover frosting in the fridge and more apricots for dipping (scooping). Oh my!
That looks amazing. Luke seems to have thought it tasted amazing, too.
