Paying For It / Pagando Por Ello

ANOTHER AFTERNOON SPENT with The Kid Brother. We had some business to take care of together and then we came downtown for lunch at a local diner. He had a Monte Cristo (French toast, topped by ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese. He then poured maple syrup on it. The plate was tremendous — and not enough. So, he grabbed the slices of melon off my omelette plate to finish things off. We then went to Trader Joe's, a "fresh format" grocery store chain. He was so excited to stock up on favorites. When we got in line, I asked him who was paying for it all. He thought that was the funniest question he had ever heard.

  4. Maple Syrup on a Monte Cristo - yes please, your brother has good taste. And he is a smart one, never answer questions that might implicate yourself, only laugh

  6. I understand his smile - I would have a smile like that too if I could do some shopping in TJ's. Even if I had to pay for it myself.

  7. That Trader Joe's looks odd in an old bank building, but I like it when old buildings are re-purposed.

  8. Paying the bill, is what brothers are for. Dime-Savings bank held the mortgage on my parents home in Florida when they bought it in 1976. I sold it last night.
