The Heat Of The Moment / En Caliente

La versión inglés está antes de la versión español.

ONE OF THE very few drawbacks to the glass curtain that wraps the terrace is the fact that a window has to be open if we want to use the heat in the apartment (to avoid a vacuum). With the recent rains, and winds that constantly change direction, that's not always a good idea. So, we've been using the portable space heater from my office as needed in the living room when we watch TV. And, wherever the heat goes, so goes Dudo. Moose keeps his distance; I think because he has more meat on his bones.

WHILE WE WATCH TV.
MIENTRAS MIRAMOS TELEVISIÓN.
AS I SIT IN MY OFFICE AND FREEZE.
MIENTRAS ME SIENTO EN MI OFICINA ... FRÍO.
AND ONCE AGAIN  IN MY OFFICE.
Y OTRA VEZ EN MI OFICINA.
ANOTHER DAY: YES, DUDO, I'M LOOKING AT YOU.
OTRO DÍA: SI, DUDO, TE ESTOY MIRANDO.
MOOSE, WHILE I TRY TO GET ORGANIZED! "OH, AM I IN THE WAY? TOO BAD."
¡MOOSE, MIENTRAS TRATO DE ORGANIZARME! "OH, ¿ESTOY EN EL CAMINO? QUÉ PENA."

  1. I love that cat!! He doesn't even sit down and relax. He means business! As if His life depends on it!

He can sit at attention like that for more than a half hour. It's bizarre.

  2. When I saw the thumbnail of the picture in my reader, I thought you took a picture of a heavy woman from the side bent over......only to find it was the sofa arm!!!!!

I see both cats are hot house flowers.

I looked at it in my reader and you're so right. Dudo parks himself forever at the space heater and yet I just had to drag him in from a dark and chilly terrace. Go figure!

  3. D. knows where he's appreciated, even if it's by something inanimate.

So do I, as you can tell. I have never been so attached ... well, except to Jerry.

  6. You can use the heater to keep Dudo where you want him. Moose, on the other hand . . . .

The minute Dudo saw what I was doing, he'd do something different.

  7. Love that he puts his paws right under it - so cute. It's not your space heater, it's his

Everything is his. He sometimes allows Jerry to use his desk chair.

And I agree with Kirk about Jailbird Dudo!

Thanks. I should probably have had a separate cats blog. I have hundreds (thousands) of photos.

  13. I don't understand about the vacuum... what kind of heat do you have? My vacuum produces heat when I use it, but I don't use it enough to heat the house. And I can avoid it easily enough by sticking it in a closet and forgetting it's there. But seriously, folks, why does your heat produce a vacuum?

I tried using the microwave to heat the house. It did nothing. Our vacuum cleaner makes it impossible to hear the TV... We've got individual wall units (heat and AC) in each room. And they each in turn have their own condensers on the terrace that need good circulation around them.

    2. Ah, see? It was the condensers on the terrace that were the missing information. Now I get it. Got it? Good. ;)

  14. Maybe I am part cat, sitting by the heat looks like a nice idea.

  15. Cats often don't seem to care if they're in the way. My inlaws old cat used to sit on a gameboard and didn't know why everyone was yelling at him to go away

Cats know exactly what they're doing. Ooh, that game board is getting ALL the attention.
