YSG: Yves San Geraldo

SAN GERALDO'S STYLE is catching on — I'm sorry to report. You know how he loves to wear dish towels on his head — to protect himself from the sun, to protect himself from the flies, to protect himself from his public? Well, our friends Pedro and Kathleen (and my pal Luke) met us recently for lunch at our local chiringuito and the sun took Kathleen by surprise. So, what else does a fashionable young woman do but put San Geraldo's dish towel on her head. If you haven't seen Yves San Geraldo's dish towel fashion, I've shared some early images of his "look."

In case you missed it: YSG: Yves San Geraldo is a reference to YSL: Yves Saint Laurent. I don't think he designed dish towels, but I could be mistaken.

I've seen others trying this style but they don't wear it as well as Jerry ... or Kathleen.

  2. Others might choose a hat, I suppose, but why do the expected, eh? ;)

And Jerry has been seeing wearing both hat and towel together. Much more formal.

  3. Nice and airy too. Not like hats which can be constricting.

You'll have to try it with a hat on top of the towel next. Classy!

  6. It takes a very secure man to wear horizontal stripes and not worrying whether they make his head look fat. Next step, a bold floral print!

I don't know if I've seen any English people doing it here. But you can imagine what THEY get up to.

  9. No. I'm pretty sure Yves Saint Laurent didn't design dish towels, but I do believe San Geraldo could fill the void.
