ESTAMOS A PUNTO de abordar nuestro avión en el Aeropuerto Internacional Dulles de Washington DC. Entonces, aquí hay un resumen rápido de algunas de las cosas que comímos en las últimas dos semanas.

And the peaches were delicious. I'd never had peach iced tea like that either.

  3. How on earth do you manage to eat like that and still stay thin? Damn, I envy you your (obviously) superior metabolism!

I honestly don't know for sure. It's clearly not just one thing. A combination of genetics, exercise, metabolism... I share my splurges with you but then walk and exercise for hours ... without snacking. But maybe it's just the luck of the draw.

  4. We were at Dulles as well, I wish it was closer to DC like Reagan is.

Reagan (when we lived there it was called National and I wish it stayed that way!) is a wild ride in and out (short runway, heavily built-up area). But it sure is convenient.

Genetics? Metabolism? Activity level? I do splurge on desserts, but I don't snack between meals and I do exercise a lot. My brother is majorly hyperactive and I'm sure burns off a lot of calories. But he IS beginning to develop a bit of a pear shape!

Yeah, it was good stuff. So I had "tarta de la abuela" at Mesón Salvador tonight to drown my sorrows (cookie base, cream filling, chocolate top).

  9. I'm not sure that's how you're supposed to get your recommended number of daily fruits and vegetables. Is ginger a vegetable?

I had a friend who said she started every day with three servings of fruit. She ate Froot Loops. ... Maybe she meant "froot." I'm counting ginger as a vegetable.

I wish I could remember the composition of that toffee dessert. It was spectacular! And this is only the second place I've found that makes exceptional, ginger ice cream. Fortunately, the other place is right here in town.
