WE ARE ON the express train to Washington DC. We left New York City's Penn Station more than an hour ago, so we have less than two hours until we arrive at Washington's historic Union Station. We just stopped in Philadelphia. (Hi, Anne Marie in Philly and Mistress Maddie!) Many more photos and stories of New York and The Kid Brother to come. I tried and tried to find the one-leg-shorter-than-the-other shorts style but all was in vain. All I found of interest was this fashion maven Sunday evening at Grand Central Station. Ho hum. And to think New York City used to be so avant garde.
ESTAMOS EN EL tren expreso a Washington DC. (Hola Anne Marie in Philly y Mistress Maddie!)
Oh my!
ReplyDelete(I was in NY’s Penn Station Monday... so close! Had a GREAT visit at The Met).
Judy,
DeleteIt would have been so wonderful to give you a real hug instead of a cyber hug! Maybe next time.
Bitch stole my look!
ReplyDeleteBob:
DeleteAnd he gave some chortling teens the finger, too!
Oh no Bob, no! Bring back the shorts and mismatched prints! If it weren't for lack of boobage and the fact she's been dead for thirty years I could've sworn this was my great aunt. Such a shock.
ReplyDeleteDeedles:
DeleteYou mean you don't like the mesh shirt and the go-go boots?!?
ew ew ew! and I heard your shout-out as you stopped at 30th street!
ReplyDeleteanne marie:
DeleteIt would have been so much fun to get off the train in Philly! (And I've never ever been there!)
Try coming further south the next time you're in the states!
ReplyDeleteJennifer:
DeleteI have a feeling DC is as far south as we'll get... and I don't know when we'll get there again!
That hairdo could poke somebody's eye out! People used to dress like that in the 1980s regularly...perhap it was a vintage look?
ReplyDeleteCheapchick:
DeleteWe had a neighbor who discovered her "look" in the '60s (when she was in her 50s). She had that same look until she died in the '90s. Go-go boots, frosty lipstick, platinum blonde Twiggy hairdo. I think you're right that this guy found his look and stuck with it.
They say eccentrics are much happier and more fulfilled people than the rest of us.
ReplyDeleteDebra:
DeleteI hope they're right. I admired the guy. An old friend wrote and told me she's seem him before in other equally dramatic outfits.
I specifically told you to not publish that picture of me damn it.
ReplyDeletemistress maddie:
DeleteNow THAT is a picture I would love to see!
Thank you so much Maddie for the huge guffaw! Thinking of you while looking at that picture makes me laugh over and over!
ReplyDeleteDeedles:
DeleteDon't you think Maddie should do a reeanactment?
I knew Pope Francis was more liberal than his predecessor, but damn!
ReplyDeleteAdam:
DeleteDon't let the look fool you. His politics are still conservative.
Only in NY!
ReplyDeleteJim:
DeleteWell, maybe... But he was headed somewhere!
Alfalfa of the Little Rascals by way of Andy Warhol's factory.
ReplyDeleteKirk:
DeletePerfect! That there is his "personality."
I've heard of 'standing out in a crowd', but REALLY!!!
ReplyDeleteRay:
DeleteYep. That'll do it.
You leave the Pennsylvania Station 'bout a quarter to four...
ReplyDeleteWalt the Fourth:
DeleteAnd, yes, that played in my home for hours!
Speechless! Enjoy DC!
ReplyDeleteTravel:
DeleteThanks. As you know, I did.
Well that snapped my eyes open first thing in the morning!
ReplyDeletesillygirl:
DeleteJust imagine all the work every morning!
You know, Mitchell, as I was looking at this picture again (I needed the laugh) I realized what was wrong with the outfit. It's the shoes! This get up is just screaming for a pair of crocs! Shh, don't tell Maddie.
ReplyDeleteI'm hear and see everything dear. Croc's!?!?!?!?! Don't make me take the Duchess title away tootes.
DeleteOkay, Maddie, I'll be good. Of course, I will probably forget this promise when another appropriate occasion arrives!
DeleteDeedles:
DeleteI was actually surprised by the go-go boots. They seemed to be from the wrong style period. But crocs? THAT would be bizarre.
