Styleless New York / Nueva York Sin Estilo

WE ARE ON the express train to Washington DC. We left New York City's Penn Station more than an hour ago, so we have less than two hours until we arrive at Washington's historic Union Station. We just stopped in Philadelphia. (Hi, Anne Marie in Philly and Mistress Maddie!) Many more photos and stories of New York and The Kid Brother to come. I tried and tried to find the one-leg-shorter-than-the-other shorts style but all was in vain. All I found of interest was this fashion maven Sunday evening at Grand Central Station. Ho hum. And to think New York City used to be so avant garde.

ESTAMOS EN EL tren expreso a Washington DC. (Hola Anne Marie in Philly y Mistress Maddie!)

    1. Judy,
It would have been so wonderful to give you a real hug instead of a cyber hug! Maybe next time.

  2. Oh no Bob, no! Bring back the shorts and mismatched prints! If it weren't for lack of boobage and the fact she's been dead for thirty years I could've sworn this was my great aunt. Such a shock.

I have a feeling DC is as far south as we'll get... and I don't know when we'll get there again!

  5. That hairdo could poke somebody's eye out! People used to dress like that in the 1980s regularly...perhap it was a vintage look?

We had a neighbor who discovered her "look" in the '60s (when she was in her 50s). She had that same look until she died in the '90s. Go-go boots, frosty lipstick, platinum blonde Twiggy hairdo. I think you're right that this guy found his look and stuck with it.

I hope they're right. I admired the guy. An old friend wrote and told me she's seem him before in other equally dramatic outfits.

Don't let the look fool you. His politics are still conservative.

  15. You know, Mitchell, as I was looking at this picture again (I needed the laugh) I realized what was wrong with the outfit. It's the shoes! This get up is just screaming for a pair of crocs! Shh, don't tell Maddie.

I was actually surprised by the go-go boots. They seemed to be from the wrong style period. But crocs? THAT would be bizarre.
