THE LOCAL SHOP that sold string mice toys that Dudo and Moose loved, no longer carries them. So I stopped at another more fancy shop and bought two expensive replacements. String and feathers glued to balls that light up and flicker when they're tapped. A package of four string mice used to cost less than 2 euros. I paid 6 euros for each of the fancy, light-up toys. Moose sniffed and walked away. Dudo stared incredulously as if to say, "You paid how much?!?"
THE LAST OF THE CHEAP MICE. EL ÚLTIMO DE LOS RATONES BARRATOS. |
DUDO, STILL CONTENT WITH THE DRAWSTRING FROM MY GYM SHORTS. DUDO, TODAVÍA FELIZ CON EL CORDÓN DE MIS PANTALONES CORTOS DE GIMNASIO. |
AND DUDO'S GOT A BRAND NEW BAG. Y DUDO TIENE UNA BOLSA NUEVA (UNA EXPRESIÓN ESTADIONUIDENSE QUE SIGNIFICA ALGO NUEVO Y GUAY, COMO UN ESTILO). |
"String and feathers glued to balls that light up and flicker when they're tapped", you better return Maddie's costume before he gets back to the Casa!
ReplyDeleteDudo and Moose, just like kids who throw out the toys and play with the boxes.
Deedles:
DeleteNOW I know why it cost 6 euros!
D & M still keeping the world to rights. It's their mission in life!
ReplyDeleteRay:
DeleteAs Dudo sits at my feet AGAIN with his drawstring!
I would have thought that Dudo would love the toys. Our dogs' current favorite toy is the a large empty plastic jar that creamer came in. Go figure.
ReplyDeleteWilma:
DeleteOh, Dudo would love that empty plastic creamer jar.
my cats like boxes rather than toys.
ReplyDeleteanne marie:
DeleteThese boys love boxes and bags. Dudo also loves toys. Moose can take or leave most toys but will play every so often with one or two.
HRH would only play with those little fake-fur-covered mice. Cats know what they like and what they don't. I spent a fortune on expensive stuff that she ignored.
ReplyDeleteDebra:
DeleteOh, yeah, they love the fur-covered mice, too. I will never buy another expensive toy for them.
Get a puzzle in there and they'll be thrilled with their new bed!
ReplyDeleteKMoff:
DeleteOh, they would LOVE a jigsaw puzzle. Moose loves family photos!
In time maybe?
ReplyDeleteLOVE JB!
Jim:
DeleteNope. There was a smidge of curiosity at the beginning. Now, they're completely ignored and will go in the charity bag.
Cats don't like the fancy!
ReplyDeleteBob:
DeleteCats only like fancy if it's not for them.
Amazon!
ReplyDeleteWell, probably. You can find anything, it seems. Gotta keep the fur balls entertained! (But, on the cheap ...ha!)
Judy:
DeleteI've found them on Amazon Spain, but paying for shipping for such a small order was a waste. Maybe I should just buy a 5-year supply.
If cats could talk,
ReplyDeleteTravel:
DeleteWell, Moose never shuts up. If we only we knew what the hell was saying.
D&M are obviously not taken in the by bling but demand the tried and true. Sadly most toys only last a day in our house - at least the "indestructible" rubbers balls last a week or two.
ReplyDeleteWillym:
DeleteWe used to buy those indestructible rubber dog toys for our Amazon parrot. They lasted about a week! Dudo does tend to "kill" some of his toys very quickly.
Those cats know a rip-off when they see one.
ReplyDeleteKirk:
DeleteSo much smarter than I am. I should take them shopping with me.
Cats are strange when it comes to their toys
ReplyDeleteAdam:
DeleteYes they are. Kind of like kids.
