A Big Pile Of... / Un Enorme Mojón

La versión español está después de la versión inglés.

DO YOU REMEMBER my post from the other day with the photos of the cairn (stack of rocks) on the beach? I called it a "mojón" in Spanish and I was almost correct. However, Pedro pointed out to me that if the word "mojón" is not followed by "de piedras" (of rocks), most Spaniards will think I'm talking about a pile of shit. The blog post has been corrected and another lesson has been learned. Meanwhile, I went out last night. I had two small beers — more really than I like to have — but I was out until 2 in the morning. Guess what I feel like today!

He corregido la entrada y he aprendido otra lección. Mientras tanto, salí anoche con un par de nuevos amigos. Me tomé dos cervezitas, más de lo que me gusta, pero no llegué a casa hasta las 2. ¡Adivina de lo que tengo ganas hoy!

PILE OF POOP: THE LEAST OFFENSIVE IMAGE THAT APPEARS WHEN I GOOGLE "MOJÓN." THE "HAIR" REMINDS ME OF SOMEONE.
MOJÓN DE CAGA: LA IMAGEN MENOS OFENSIVA CUANDO YO GOOGLE "MOJÓN". EL "CABELLO" ME RECUERDA A ALGUIEN.
PILE OF ROCKS.
MOJÓN DE PIEDRAS.

  1. Interesting, at least you got to correct the blog post. And of course the feeling will pass, coffee and all. Greetings to you.

  2. One of those "lost in translation" moments. I think that half of hangovers as adults is staying out too late. I can have a few drinks and if in bed early enough no issues but we stayed up till 1 am on Saturday and I felt just like you did!

And the word mojon and its correct use, forever planted in my memory. It's Tuesday and I think I'm recovered from Sunday.

  3. That might be the most elegant pile of shit I've ever seen.

    Sorry, I had to.

  6. My Rare One and I were at the Halloween pop-up store a couple of weeks ago and guess what this year's popular (or should I say "poopular") costume is? The Poop Emoji! All you have to do is dress all in brown and wear this foam rubber poop emoji on your head. Pretty easy costume, all things considered. And sure, if you want to carry a roll of toilet paper, you could do that too.

Do I remembe correctly that Patrick Stewart has the honor of bthe Inger the voice of Poop in a current Emoji film?

    2. Yes, that is correct. It was the crowning glory of his long and distinguished career as a respected Shakespearean actor.

I had also had a vodka tonic with dinner two hours earlier. And ... well ... lightweight!

If I screwed up every single thing I said, I'd be brilliantly fluent by now. These are the things I never forget.
